Guides › Glimmer vs Lumin Crystals: free and paid currency

What can you buy with real money?

Real money buys shop packs containing cosmetics, capture items and progression materials such as Sparkling Crystals and Sparkling Cubes.

Every paid route runs through Lumin Crystals, and money is the only way to get them. They come from shop top-ups, the Monthly Pass and event bundles, and you spend them in the cash shop.

Your first top-up pays a bonus in Glimmer equal to the amount you bought. Later purchases still pay bonus Glimmer, but less. For a sense of price, 980 premium currency costs about £15, or €17.99 as a bundle. That is what a 980-currency costume costs.

What the paid packs contain

Besides cosmetics and capture items, the packs are where Sparkling Crystals and Sparkling Cubes are sold for money. Smaller recurring packs exist as well. The paid Weekly Value Supplies pack, for example, contains Glimmer, a box of coins and two Vein Essences.

Paid transmog for Irisalis and legendary Aniimo

Radiant Dreamshadow is the paid transmog material. Each one costs 200 Lumin Crystals in the item shop, and it changes the appearance of Irisalis and other legendary Aniimo. Its free counterpart, Glimmering Drift Shadow, costs 200 Glimmer in the Glimmer tab. The free material only takes a transmog as far as the third step, the headgear slot. Past that point you need Radiant Dreamshadow.

Locking any transmog slot also stops the free material from being used on that reroll track, so every roll after that needs Radiant Dreamshadow. The transmogrification menu can uncheck the free currency toggle on its own. Check it before each roll, or you can spend the paid material without meaning to.
