No cookies. No third-party tracking. Nothing sold, shared, or handed to an advertiser. What follows is the whole of it.

What is counted

Each page you open is counted once, at the edge, from the request itself: the page, the site that linked you here if any, your browser and operating system, your language, and the country and region your connection resolves to. That is the same information every web server in the world writes to a log file.

There is no script on any page of this site except the search page, and nothing at all is loaded from anyone else's server. No analytics tag, no font service, no embedded player, no advertising network. If you block scripts, everything here still works, because there is nothing to block.

How you are counted without being identified

There is no cookie and no identifier stored on your device. To avoid counting the same person five times in one visit, the server derives a short code from your network address, your browser, and the current month, and keeps only that code. It cannot be reversed into an address, it is different on every site, and it changes every month, so nothing here can follow you from one month to the next.

Precise location is never requested and never stored. Country, region and city come from the network, and city is often wrong or missing. No coordinates are kept.

Searches

When you search on the search page, the words you settled on are kept, along with how many results they found and whether you opened one. This is the only way to learn which questions this site fails to answer, and those questions decide what gets written next. A search that finds nothing is the most useful thing you can leave behind.

Before anything is stored, a search is trimmed to eighty characters, lowercased, and discarded outright if it looks like it was not meant for a search box: anything with an address in it, anything that looks like a web link, anything carrying a long run of digits, or anything longer than a dozen words. Half-typed words are not kept either — only what you stopped on.

Some of those questions are published, as counts, onToday in Aniimo. That page exists to show what readers are asking and what this site cannot yet answer, so the gaps are visible rather than private. Three rules govern what can appear there, and they are narrower than the rules for storing a search in the first place.

• Only questions made of words from the game — an Aniimo, an egg, an element, or one of a short list of terms the game itself uses. Anything else is counted and never shown, so a question phrased in your own words about anything else cannot reach the page.
• Only questions several different people asked, over a whole week. One person searching one thing is never published, however many times they search it.
• Counts only. There is no visit, no visitor and no time of day behind any number on that page, and nothing there can be traced back to a person or a session.

How long anything is kept

Individual visits are deleted after 120 days. What survives is a daily count per page, per country, per search term and so on — totals with no visit behind them, which is what a chart needs and all it needs.

What is never collected

• Your name, your email address, or any account — there are no accounts here.
• Anything you type anywhere except the search box.
• Cross-site history. Nothing here can see where you go next.
• Coordinates, device identifiers, or fingerprints beyond the browser name and version.

Where it goes

Into one database, owned by this site, read by nobody else. Nothing is sent to an advertising network or a data broker, and there is nothing to sell them. The hosting provider necessarily sees requests in order to serve them, as every host does.

Opting out

A Global Privacy Control signal or a Do Not Track header is honoured: send either — most privacy-minded browsers and extensions can — and nothing is counted at all, not the page and not the search. Blocking this domain in a content blocker works too.

Changes

If this ever describes less than the truth, the page changes first and the collection changes second. That order is the only promise on this page that matters.
