What is Chaos mode in Egg Heist?

Chaos is the hardcore setting for a mode that is already hostile. Egg Heist, also called Diamond Egg Theft, mixes PvP and PvE in an extraction format: you are fighting the map and other squads at the same time, and you only bank anything by getting out with special eggs. Losing a fight does not just cost you the fight. Other squads can take your items off you.

So the thing Chaos mode raises the difficulty of is not a combat arena. It is a run you have to finish. Every minute you spend contesting another team is a minute you are not extracting, and the hardcore framing means the margin for a bad engagement is thinner than in the standard version.

Treat it as the version to try once you already know the normal Egg Heist loop, not as your introduction to it.

Carrying the central egg

The mode's most exposed moment is the giant egg in the middle. Whoever picks it up transforms into the egg itself, and that transformation strips your combat abilities. You cannot fight your way out while holding it.

That makes the carrier entirely dependent on the rest of the squad, who have to escort them all the way to evacuation. A team that grabs the central egg without agreeing who is screening is handing a free kill to anyone watching. Under a harder ruleset, that escort is the run.

Not settled: Exactly which rules Chaos mode tightens compared with standard Egg Heist is not pinned down yet, and neither is whether the central egg carrier works the same way there.
