What is the player's role in the game?
Players take on the role of Pathfinders in the world of Idle.
◇verified at launch · Sept 2026
In play, your work centers on creature catching and creature collecting across the open world. Aniimo treats this framework through survival mechanics as well as open-world action role-playing systems, though its exact genre identity is not settled.
You can handle these tasks solo or join other Pathfinders through online cooperative multiplayer. Teaming up allows you to explore the environment, trade caught Aniimo, and tackle alpha encounters, boss battles, and other group activities together.
Combat roles and coordination
Working alongside other players or fielding your own squad requires managing creature specializations. Support Aniimo focus on buffing allies and bringing utility to the team, paired with debuffs and target interference against enemies.
Break-role Aniimo handle disruption directly. Their attacks strip away enemy guard and poise, staggering dangerous targets and creating openings for follow-up strikes during coordinated fights.
Not settled: The game's primary genre classification remains unsettled, shifting between a survival game and an open-world action role-playing game.
