Guides › Sparkling Aniimo: Shiny Variants and Sparkling Cubes
Are Sparkling Cubes hard to obtain?
Sparkling Cubes are a scarce, limited resource and more difficult to acquire than standard Anipods.
Every Cube you throw at a middling catch is one you no longer have for a good one. You can buy Sparkling Cubes with real money, or convert Sparkling Crystals into them at the Outpost Vendor.
What you get for that cost is a certain catch. A Sparkling Cube has a guaranteed 100% catch rate, so one thrown at a spawned Prismana always captures it, and the Aniimo comes out as a sparkling version, prismatics and Umbras included. On a wild catch you get a common sparkling style 99% of the time and the dazzling style 1% of the time. You never get the shadow style from a Cube. Whether a Cube also guarantees perfect potential is not settled, so do not spend one expecting perfect stats.
Where a scarce Sparkling Cube is best spent
Keep Cubes for the targets you actually intend to run on your active team: confirmed meta picks, alphas with strong core skills, Prismana eggs, Prismana Aniimo where the colour change shows most, or a Vein Abundance Aniimo you want. Do not spend them on every Prismana you catch, on your first Alphas, or on early monsters nobody has confirmed are good. A Cube can also be applied to certain eggs during incubation to make the hatch sparkling.
Getting a sparkling Aniimo without a Cube
Cubes are not the only route. Ten Sparkling Stamps convert an Aniimo into its sparkling form. Prismatic eggs carry a 0.5% chance of a sparkling or shadow mutation, and an egg with the sparkling mutation is guaranteed to hatch a sparkling Aniimo. In the open world, the first stage of the Wind Chaser badge raises Sparkling spawns by about 50%, to roughly 1 in 13,000.
Once you own a sparkling Aniimo, applying a Prismana Orb turns it into a sparkling Prismana and keeps traits such as Alpha status and perfect potential. Sparkling Pigment rerolls its colour at random, with a chance at the Dazzling style, which matters because no Cube or other route lets you pick a specific colour.
Not settled: The number of Sparkling Crystals a Sparkling Cube costs at the Outpost Vendor is not settled. It appears as 1,000, as 100 and as 5, so check the vendor before you plan around saving crystals for one.
