Does Aniimo support cross-play?

Aniimo supports cross-platform play across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.

In practice that means the device someone owns stops being a reason you cannot play together. A friend on a phone and a friend on a PS5 land in the same session as you on PC, and the Xbox Series X and Series S sit in the same pool. Cross-platform multiplayer is full rather than partial, covering all available devices, so there is no smaller side pool of console-only or mobile-only players to worry about when you are deciding what to buy the game on.

Input is the part that still differs between you and the person next to you in a party. Aniimo supports controller input, including PlayStation and Xbox pads, so a PC or mobile player who prefers a controller is not forced onto touch or keyboard by the platform they chose.

Your account travels with you

Cross-play and cross-save are separate things, and Aniimo has both. Progression carries across PC, consoles and mobile as long as you log into the same developer account, so the save you build on a console is the save you pick up on a phone later. That makes the platform question mostly about where you want to sit rather than where your account lives.

Where you can actually play it

The PC version comes from Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, the Xbox on PC route. Beyond that there is PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, iOS and Android. Cloud Gaming is the option worth remembering if you want Aniimo on hardware that will not run it locally, and it is covered by the same cross-platform play as everything else on the list.

Not settled: Cross-play is still partly described as planned rather than finished, so the exact set of platforms wired together on day one may be narrower than the full list.
