Guides › Catch Stance and Combat Role Strategy in Aniimo
Does weakening an Aniimo make it easier to catch?
Engaging an Aniimo in battle and weakening it improves the chance of capturing it with an Anipod.
◇Aug 2026
Throwing an Anipod at full health wastes resources on difficult targets. Lowering a wild Aniimo's health during a fight raises your capture odds, and breaking the target in combat boosts those chances further. You can see the exact catch percentage on screen before throwing, though a pod can still shake and fail.
The danger in combat is accidentally knocking the wild target out before you can capture it. To prevent this, switch your active party creature into catch stance, commonly called catch mode. In this stance, your companion attacks to whittle down the wild creature but automatically stops attacking once the target's health drops below a certain threshold.
Other combat conditions affecting catch rate
Your relative power matters directly. Being a lower level than the target creature reduces your catch odds. Being spotted and engaged by an Aniimo also lowers the catch percentage compared to initiating the encounter undetected.
Gear selection further changes the outcome. Anipods come in multiple tiers, with higher tiers carrying higher base capture success rates to secure stronger creatures. Players can also assist one another when capturing wild Aniimo during co-op play. However, Omega Aniimo cannot be captured at all.
