Guides › Glimmer vs Lumin Crystals: free and paid currency

How far can Glimmering Drift Shadows unlock transmog?

Glimmering Drift Shadows, the free-to-play transmog currency, can progress transmog only up to the third step, the headgear slot.

Everything past headgear needs Radiant Dreamshadow, the paid transmog currency, at 200 Lumin Crystals each. Glimmering Drift Shadows are the free material used to roll and unlock Irisalis transmogrifications, which change its colours. The free route covers the first few options, such as colour, wings and headwear, and then it stops.

Each Glimmering Drift Shadow costs 200 Glimmer in the Glimmer tab of the shop, so reaching headgear costs only time. Glimmer has other uses, though. Capability Fruit, for one, is 1,000 Glimmer in the same shop. Free Glimmer income also drops sharply once the one-time sources run out, notably past roughly level 58 to 60. Decide how far you actually want to take Irisalis before you spend it.

How you end up spending paid currency by accident

Locking any transmog slot stops free currency from being used on that reroll track. From then on, every roll on it needs Radiant Dreamshadow. If you only intend to go as far as the free route allows, leave the slots unlocked.

The transmogrification menu can also uncheck the free currency toggle on its own. Check it before every roll, or the game can spend paid currency you meant to keep.
