Irisalis Transmogrification: Driftshadow Costs

Driftshadows cost 200 Glimmer each in the shop, or two Petals from the event store once your Legendary Aniipod is crafted. Watch the free currency toggle too.

The short version

  1. Once you capture Irisalis, it opens an exclusive transmog customisation system that the rest of your roster does not have.
  2. Glimmering Driftshadow is the free currency for rolling and unlocking Irisalis looks, and Radiant Dreamshadow is the real-money one.
  3. The transmogrification menu can uncheck the free currency toggle by itself, so check it before every roll or you may spend paid currency.
  4. Glimmering Driftshadows cost 200 Glimmer each or 1,800 Glimmer for a pack of 10, and the Walking with Irisalis event store sells them for two Irisalis Petals each.
  5. Craft the Legendary Aniipod before you spend Petals in the event shop, because Driftshadow cannot be bought from that store until you have.

How to get Irisalis has its own guide. This page covers what you do with it afterwards. Capturing Irisalis unlocks an exclusive transmog customisation system, and that system has its own currencies, its own shop prices and one menu habit that can quietly cost you real money.

The short version: roll with Glimmering Driftshadow, which is free. Leave Radiant Dreamshadow, which is paid, alone unless you mean to spend it. Get your Driftshadows from the cheapest source you have access to, and check the currency toggle before every single roll.

Two currencies, one free and one paid

Irisalis transmogrification runs on two currencies. Glimmering Driftshadow (also written Glimmering Drift Shadow) is the free one. You use it to roll new looks and to unlock them. Radiant Dreamshadow (also written Radiant Dream Shadow) is a real-money premium currency. It does the same job: it transmogrifies and changes the appearance of legendary Aniimo.

The Currencies in Aniimo guide covers how both fit into the wider economy. What matters here is that the two can be spent through the same menu, which leads straight to the most expensive mistake you can make with Irisalis.

Irisalis transmogrification currencies

Glimmering Driftshadow

  • Free currency
  • Rolls and unlocks Irisalis transmogrifications
  • Sold in the shop for Glimmer
  • Sold in the Walking with Irisalis event store for two Irisalis Petals each

Radiant Dreamshadow

  • Premium currency bought with real money
  • Used for Irisalis transmogrification
  • Alters the appearance of legendary Aniimo

Check the free currency toggle every time

The transmogrification menu can uncheck the free currency toggle by itself. If you roll without noticing, the game may spend Radiant Dreamshadow instead of Glimmering Driftshadow. That is paid currency gone on a roll you meant to be free.

Make it a habit. Before you confirm a roll, look at the toggle. Do it every time, not just the first time you open the menu, because the problem is that it changes without you touching it.

Where to buy Glimmering Driftshadow

The shop sells Glimmering Driftshadow two ways. A single one costs 200 Glimmer. A pack of 10 costs 1,800 Glimmer, so if you are going to roll repeatedly, the pack is cheaper per Driftshadow than buying them one at a time.

The other source is the Walking with Irisalis Legendary Journey event store, which sells Glimmering Driftshadow for two Irisalis Petals each. The catch is that some items in that store, Driftshadow included, can only be bought once you have crafted the Legendary Aniipod. Petals you spend in the event shop before that are Petals you no longer have for the Aniipod. Craft it first, then shop. The Beginner Mistakes guide treats this as one of the traps worth avoiding, and it is.

1,800 Glimmer

Pack of 10 Glimmering Driftshadows

A single Glimmering Drift Shadow costs 200 Glimmer in the shop, so check the pack price before buying them one at a time.

Roll history and presets

Transmogrify history keeps up to 10 previous rolls. That is your safety net. If you roll past a look you liked, it is still there for a while, but only the last 10 survive, so do not keep rolling for long while you decide whether you liked something further back.

Once you have a look you want to keep, save it to a preset. How many presets you get is not settled. It is given both as four custom presets and as three, the three described as up from two. Plan around the smaller number until you can see your own slots in game.

The White Iris and the hidden Prismana Iris questline

Not every Irisalis look comes from rolling. The White Iris variant, also called Iris Prismana, is awarded for completing specific journey essences or collecting legendary perfumes. You earn it rather than spend currency on it.

There is also a hidden Prismana Iris questline. It requires side quests outside the A Fragrant Journey quest line, so following the main Irisalis questline alone will not get you there. If the Prismana questline is not showing up, the side quests are the first thing to check.

Where to start

Craft the Legendary Aniipod before you spend any Petals. After that, buy Driftshadows in packs of 10 or from the event store, check the free currency toggle before every roll, and save looks you like to a preset before they drop out of your last 10 rolls. If you want the White Iris, go after it through journey essences, legendary perfumes and the side quests outside A Fragrant Journey. You won't get it by rolling.
