How many Aniimo can be on an active team?
An active combat team in Aniimo consists of up to four Aniimo, which the player can swap between during combat.
◇verified at launch · Sept 2026
Standard loadouts assign one primary active Aniimo alongside up to three support Aniimo to fill the four roster slots. Any additional creatures you own stay behind in a box system.
During battle, you switch between your party members instantly in real time. Tagging out an Aniimo triggers a cooldown before another switch can be made. Support Aniimo provide abilities governed by their own cooldowns. You can also use the Twine mechanic to transform directly into a creature, and party swaps remain available while transformed. When you need simultaneous damage, a Linkblast attack allows all team members to strike together.
Covering team roles
Every Aniimo occupies a single fixed combat role that cannot be changed. The primary roles are DPS (or attacker), break (or penetration), healing, support, and regen. While creatures outside the DPS category can still deal damage, their kits are built around their assigned specialty. Checking a creature's designated role before investing materials ensures you build a balanced lineup without wasting resources.
Not settled: Certain beta builds limited active combat teams to three creatures rather than four.
