How much damage do resisted attacks deal?

The damage multiplier for resisted elemental attacks is unsettled: it is given both as exactly half damage and as 0.5 to 0.6 times normal damage.

This one is not settled.

Both versions are shown because the disagreement is itself information — usually it means the mechanic changed between beta builds.

This reduction applies whenever an attack strikes an affinity that holds the advantage on the in-game elemental type chart. An Aniimo determines its defensive matchup based entirely on its own typing against the incoming attack. Because matchups depend on the element of the ability rather than the Aniimo using it, an off-type skill hitting a resistant target triggers the damage penalty regardless of the user's base element.

Combat does not feature elemental chain reactions, so a resisted strike cannot be salvaged through follow-up status combos. Difficult content like Holo-Battle Sim challenges necessitates equipped runes and specific elemental counterplay rather than arbitrary teams, making it ineffective to fight through disadvantage.
