How to Awaken Potential in Aniimo
Potential awakening turns materials into permanent stat points, but only up to a ceiling your Aniimo was born with. Here is how the system fits together and where your resources actually go.
The short version
- Each of an Aniimo's six attributes is the sum of innate potential and acquired potential.
- Standard attributes cap at a combined total of 20.
- Innate potential is fixed at capture or birth and only moves with special items like fruits.
- Acquired potential is raised in the capability awakening tab by spending enhancement materials on stats.
- Awakening Potential uses Star Dust, Star Sand, and Star Essence.
- Higher innate potential lowers the total Astranite needed to max a stat.
- Growth stage and level determine how many potential awakenings an Aniimo has available.
- A crown icon marks a stat that has reached maximum potential.
Every Aniimo has six attributes, and every one of those attributes is built from two separate numbers added together. One you are given. One you buy.
The one you are given is innate potential, fixed at capture or birth. The one you buy is acquired potential, raised by spending materials through the training menu. Together they cap at 20 on a standard attribute, and hitting that ceiling is the whole goal.
The important part is that those two numbers are not independent. What you were given decides what the rest costs you.
Start in the training menu
The training menu is the hub for everything you do to an Aniimo after you have it. Rank ups, skill customization, carried item management, and potential awakening all sit here.
Potential awakening is the one that touches raw stat values. Attributes represent an Aniimo's stat values, and they can be raised with resources, which is what this menu is for. Inside it, the capability awakening tab is where acquired potential goes up. You select a stat and spend enhancement materials on it.
Innate potential versus acquired potential
Each of an Aniimo's six attributes is determined by both innate and acquired potential. They are two halves of one number.
Innate potential is the fixed starting points an Aniimo possesses upon capture or birth. It works like an individual value. You do not raise it by grinding the awakening tab. It moves only with special items such as fruits.
Acquired potential is the half you control directly. Spend enhancement materials in the capability awakening tab and the number climbs. Standard attributes cap at a combined maximum total of 20 across both halves, so acquired potential is really just filling the gap that innate potential left behind.
Innate potential
- Fixed starting points an Aniimo possesses upon capture or birth
- Functions like individual values
- Raised only with special items such as fruits
- Scales enhancement costs, so higher starting potential lowers the total Astranite needed to max a stat
Acquired potential
- Increased in the capability awakening tab
- Raised by spending enhancement materials on stats
- Awakening draws on Star Dust, Star Sand, and Star Essence
- Available awakenings depend on the Aniimo's growth stage and level
What it costs, and why the cost varies
Awakening Potential consumes Star Dust, Star Sand, and Star Essence. Budget for all three.
The cost is not flat. An Aniimo's innate potential value scales its enhancement costs, and higher starting potential lowers the total Astranite needed to max out a stat. So the creature that rolled well is also the cheap one to finish. The creature that rolled badly asks you to pay twice, once in the missing points and once in the materials to buy them back.
There is a second limit on top of the material cost. An Aniimo's available number of potential awakenings is determined by its growth stage and level. A young, low-level Aniimo simply has fewer awakenings on the table, no matter how deep your stockpile is.
Reading the crown
When a stat reaches maximum potential, a crown icon appears next to it. That is your confirmation that the attribute is done and further spending on it is pointless.
Players call maxing an attribute completely crowning, and doing it twice over double crowning. It is a useful shorthand when you are deciding which Aniimo is worth the materials, because the crown is visible at a glance and the underlying numbers are not.

Where to start
Open the training menu, find the capability awakening tab, and check the innate potential on your six attributes before you spend anything. High innate numbers mean a cheaper road to a crown. Low ones mean you either feed fruits or accept the bill in Astranite. All of this comes from pre-launch builds.
