Are cosmetic outfits gender-locked?

In practice this means the shop you browse is not the shop another player browses. Pick a male character and the outfit list you see is the male set; pick a female character and you get the female designs. Through closed beta 3 the restriction was applied at the storefront, so a look you liked on someone else's character was not something you could buy by paying more. It simply was not offered to you.

The cost of that is smaller than it sounds, because outfits change appearance only. No stat lines, no hidden bonuses, nothing that affects how your Aniimo perform. A gender-locked wardrobe locks you out of a look, never out of power, so it never becomes a competitive problem.

If you are budgeting, character outfits in the cash shop sit at 680, 980, and 1,280 Lumen. Note that Lumen is the currency outfits are priced in. Glimmer, the diamond-shaped premium currency, is a separate thing you exchange for valuable items, so a Glimmer balance is not an outfit balance. Work out which side of the wardrobe you want before you commit to a character, since your choice there decides which price tiers you will ever be shopping from.

Not settled: The lock sits on what the shop offers, and nothing yet establishes whether a design built for one gender is later adapted for the other, or whether the split stays this strict past closed beta 3.
