Guides › Aniimo cash shop: cosmetic outfits and bundle prices
Are outfits gender-locked in Aniimo?
Whether cosmetic outfits are gender-locked is unsettled: they are given as having male and female variants and being usable on any character regardless of gender, and also as gender-locked in the case of premium outfits, which have distinct designs for male and female characters.
This one is not settled.
Both versions are shown because the disagreement is itself information — usually it means the mechanic changed between beta builds.
Choosing a body type locks which premium shop designs your character can wear. Premium cosmetic outfits feature separate cuts built exclusively for male or female characters, preventing opposite-sex characters from equipping them. Launch rewards account for this split by granting both male and female outfit styles directly to your inventory.
Outside of premium purchases, cosmetic items include male and female variants intended to work on any character regardless of gender. During closed beta 3, shop cosmetics were restricted strictly by character gender. While a Redesign Card allows appearance alterations after creation, character sex could not be changed in the beta, leaving locked purchases tied to that specific model.
Not settled: The game rules remain conflicting on cosmetic restrictions: premium store items enforce gender locks with distinct male and female designs, while general outfits provide adaptive variants usable on any character.
