Aniimo cash shop: cosmetic outfits and bundle prices
Shop outfits cost 680, 980 or 1,280 Lumen. Here is what Glimmer can replace, and what each battle pass edition and pre-order pack actually contained.
The short version
- Character outfits in the cash shop sell at three price tiers: 680, 980 and 1,280 Lumen.
- Lumen Crystals (also spelled Lumin) only come from real money, but Glimmer is earned through exploration and daily activities and can buy items that normally need real money.
- Every outfit and skin is purely cosmetic. None of them grants a gameplay or stat advantage.
- The Forest of Butterfly Dreams outfit, hairstyle included, costs 3,000 Lightweave Fragments in the Lightweave event shop, so you never touch the cash shop for it.
- The battle pass has a free standard edition with the top track only, an Advanced edition at about US$10 or €9.99 that opens both tracks, and a Collector's edition at €23.99.
Aniimo has cosmetic microtransactions, and the cash shop is where most of them are. Outfits, skins and the paid battle pass editions are all there. You can't buy power. Outfits change how your character looks and nothing else.
That makes the buying decision simpler than in most games. The questions are what each tier costs, which currency you can pay with, and whether the thing you want can be earned instead. This page covers the price tiers, the two currencies, the event outfits, the battle pass editions and the pre-order packs, roughly in that order.
Outfit price tiers in the cash shop
Character outfits are sold at three price tiers: 680, 980 and 1,280 Lumen. The shop offers five costumes. They are priced in premium currency, so the cash shop is where you buy premium outfits and skins.
Cosmetics are not free in general. You buy them with in-game currencies. The exception is a small set you earn by playing: four free outfits come from completing the main story and from homeland gathering tasks. If you only want something different from the starting look, play first and decide afterwards whether a shop outfit is worth it.
Whatever you buy, it does nothing for your stats. Outfits alter appearance without any gameplay advantage, so a 1,280 Lumen costume is a style choice and not an upgrade.
- 680 LumenThe lowest of the three outfit price tiers.
- 980 LumenThe middle outfit price tier.
- 1,280 LumenThe highest outfit price tier.
Lumen Crystals, Glimmer and what each one pays for
Lumen Crystals, also spelled Lumin Crystals, are the premium currency. You get them only with real money, through shop top-ups, the Monthly Pass and event bundles. You spend them on cash shop items, including shop goods and exclusive cosmetics.
Glimmer is the cosmetic currency you earn in-game through exploration and daily activities. Glimmer can buy items that normally require real money, which is the useful part. A patient player has a route to some paid items without topping up.
In practice, do your dailies and explore. Glimmer builds up from routine play, and it reaches into the part of the shop that would otherwise need Lumen.

Event outfits: Lightweave and version 1.1
Not every featured outfit goes through the cash shop. The Forest of Butterfly Dreams outfit can be bought outright for 3,000 Lightweave Fragments, and the set includes a hairstyle. Lightweave Fragments are spent in the Lightweave event shop. That shop also sells other cosmetics, including individual costume parts, so you can take only the pieces you like rather than a whole set.
Version 1.1 adds a new appearance set to the shop called Radiant Wavelow. If you are keeping currency back, that is the latest addition to plan around.
Battle pass editions and what each unlocks
Aniimo's seasonal battle pass is sold in the shop. Its name is not settled: it appears as the Journey Handbook and as the Companion Handbook, which is also called the Companion Manual or Companion Guide. It is the same system under each name.
Rewards unlock gradually as you earn battle pass experience. They include cosmetics, journey-assisting items and a unique Aniimo form. There are three editions:
The standard edition is free and open to every player. It unlocks only the top track.
The Advanced edition (the Advanced Companion Handbook) costs about US$10, listed as both $9.99 and $10.00, or €9.99. It unlocks both the standard and the advanced reward tracks.
The Collector's edition is the higher paid tier, at €23.99.
If you play every season, the Advanced edition is the step that matters, because it is the one that opens the second track. The free edition still gives you something without spending anything.
- Standard editionFree. Unlocks only the top track.
- Advanced editionAbout US$10 or €9.99. Unlocks both the standard and advanced reward tracks.
- Collector's editionThe higher paid edition, priced at €23.99.
What the pre-order packs contained
Pre-order packs were sold before release, and each came with cosmetic extras.
The $9.99 Advanced Edition pack included the Furry Friend, a cosmetic head pet. The $19.99 tier included an avatar frame and a doll cosmetic item. On console, the Advanced Edition pre-order included exclusive in-game accessories and the Advanced Companion Handbook standard battle pass tier, and the $20 console Collector's Edition included exclusive in-game accessories with the Collector's Companion Guide.
Pre-registration had its own launch rewards, including a limited outfit unlocked as a pre-registration milestone reward.
Wearing outfits: presets, redesigns and creature skins
Skins are not only for your character. You can equip cosmetic skins on your Aniimo creatures too, so a purchase can be for the creature you take everywhere.
You can store up to three transmogrification presets: the default look plus two custom slots. Changing your character's appearance or hair colour in the Design Studio after character creation uses up a Redesign Card, so get the face and hair right at creation if you can.
Whether outfits are gender-locked is not settled. Outfits have male and female variants and can be used on any character regardless of gender, yet premium outfits are also gender-locked, with distinct designs for male and female characters. Before paying for a premium outfit, check what it looks like on your own character.
Where to start
Earn the four free outfits and build up Glimmer first. Use Lightweave Fragments for event sets like Forest of Butterfly Dreams. Save Lumen for a shop outfit you actually want, and if you play every season, the Advanced battle pass edition is the paid option that gets you the most.
