Can Aniimo fly to high elevations?
Certain Aniimo possess flying capabilities that allow players to reach high elevations.
◇verified at launch · Sept 2026
Flight is not something your character does. You transform into the Aniimo and use its ability, so getting to a ledge or a peak means having the right creature with you before you leave the ground. Some map areas are built around this. There is no path up, and the only way in is to take the shape of something that flies.
That makes team composition a traversal decision as much as a combat one. If you are heading somewhere you have not been, the question is which movement abilities you are carrying, not just which creatures hit hardest. Locations that look blocked or sealed off usually are not puzzles in themselves. They are waiting for a specific ability you either have or do not.
The rest of the movement toolkit
Flight sits alongside gliding, swimming and burrowing, each held by particular Aniimo. Gliding covers distance from height, swimming opens water, burrowing goes under. Between them they account for most of the overworld you cannot simply walk into.
Field abilities go further than movement. Water abilities used on environmental water puzzles let you change the world rather than cross it, and solving those puzzles is the only way into certain overworld areas. So a stretch of map can be gated two different ways: something you have to fly over, or something you have to solve first.
Not settled: Which Aniimo carry flight, and how much vertical range each one gives, is not settled pre-launch.
