Guides › How combat works in Aniimo
Can you swap Aniimo during combat?
Combat uses a character-switching mechanic that lets players instantly swap in real time between the four Aniimo in their active party, for example to switch out one that is low on health, while changing which Aniimo make up that party is done outside of combat.
Each creature enters with its own fixed combat role and equipped moveset ready to use. An Aniimo equips up to two regular combat skills at any given time, in addition to its ultimate attack. Because combat roles cannot be changed and cover DPS, break, healing, support, or regen, swapping is how you respond to battle conditions rather than relying purely on damage dealers.
Switching also interacts with specific skill timing. Dazmand, for example, has a passive that removes energy consumption for the first skill used within 5 seconds of entering combat. Rotating your deployed Aniimo lets you capitalise on entry windows like this, refresh support stat buffs, or swap in a healer like Glacy when health drops.
