Do Homeland Aniimo need food to work?
Homeland worker Aniimo consume food to maintain automation and carry out chores, and production stalls if they lack what they need.
Food comes from your own fields: wheat and wheat meal are crafted into food for your farm Aniimo. That turns the wheat plot into part of the production chain rather than a side crop. If it runs dry, the creatures staffing your other facilities stop, and so does everything that depends on them.
Crops grow on real-world timers, so you cannot fix a food shortage in a minute. Keep wheat planted ahead of what your workers will eat. When you check Home Orders at the start of a session, check the food stock too, because orders only pay out if the facilities filling them are still running.
When a fed worker still stops
Food is not the only thing a worker needs. An Aniimo in a bad mood or with depleted sanity refuses to work, or works far less efficiently, until you soothe it. If a facility has stalled and the food is there, look at the worker's mood next.
Workers are captured Aniimo, and you can assign them to home tasks once your Homeland reaches level 2. The Crackle Generator powers facilities with electric watts and lowers the number of workers they require, so a powered facility ties up fewer Aniimo and leaves fewer to keep fed.
