Guides › Evolution traps: Umbral form loss and failed requirements
Do Umbral Aniimo lose their form upon evolving?
Evolving an Umbral Aniimo permanently removes its Umbral form and unique dark visual appearance.
Evolution strips away the creature's special perks alongside its Umbral state.
Transforming the monster produces the exact same permanent loss. The dark purple and black visual effect vanishes completely, leaving the Aniimo with standard appearance and traits for its evolved form.
The game displays a confirmation warning before allowing the evolution to proceed. Because there is no way to restore the lost status, keep any favorite creature in its base form if you value its look or its perks. Marking an Aniimo with a star locks it against accidental modifications.
