What are eggshell coins used for?
Eggshell coins are spent on the Egg Heist talent tree and on gear such as attack amplifiers, expanded backpacks and protective units.
Equipped Heist gear is lost on a failed run unless protection items cover it. Fainting, dying or failing to extract, Chaos mode included, takes the whole backpack and any uncovered gear with it. An attack amplifier or an expanded backpack bought with coins can go in one bad run.
That leaves two ways to spend. Gear helps you this run and is at risk while you wear it. The Egg Heist talent tree is the other place coins go. Talent materials are also among the loot worth carrying out, next to gold-tier items, so a run that pays for itself usually brings both home.
