Guides › Team structure, party swapping and combat roles
What combat roles exist?
Aniimo are divided into five combat roles: attacker (DPS), healer, support, breaker, and regeneration.
◇verified at launch · Sept 2026
Each Aniimo is locked to its combat role permanently. You cannot change or reassign that role later, which makes confirming a creature's assignment crucial before spending development materials on it. In addition to their fixed role, individual Aniimo possess their own unique movesets, active combat skills, and movement options.
Creatures outside the primary attacker role are not helpless. Aniimo in non-DPS roles still deal damage in combat, allowing healers, supports, and posture breakers to fight directly while providing their primary utility.
Party Composition
An active combat party caps at four Aniimo, leaving any remaining collection in a box system. A full loadout consists of one primary active creature and up to three support Aniimo. Because team capacity stops at four, no single party can field all five functional roles at once.
You can switch between your four party members in real time during combat, though tagging an Aniimo out triggers a cooldown before another swap can occur. You can also transform directly into a party member using the Twine mechanic, and swapping remains available while transformed. Support Aniimo trigger abilities governed by cooldown timers, while a Linkblast attack triggers a coordinated strike where all team members attack together.
Not settled: The fifth combat role remains unsettled across beta builds, appearing alternately as regeneration or as a tank role.
