Guides › Aniimo Catching Guide: Aniipods and Alpha Hunting

What happens when you catch all Aniimo in a group appearance?

All Aniimo in a group appearance—such as all 20 spawned creatures—must be caught to advance cultivation and trigger the branch bloom.

This is all or nothing. A group appearance is not scored on how many you take home; leave one creature uncaught and the branch stays as it was, with no bloom and no cultivation progress for the whole set. Bloom energy is only released once the last one is in a pod, which makes the final catch of a group the one that actually pays.

So treat a group appearance as a supply problem before it is a skill problem. Twenty catch attempts in a row is a lot of Aniipods, and a failed throw on the last creature costs you the whole set's payoff. The Tumbler Aniipod is the obvious answer to volume, since it can catch several Aniimo at once instead of one per throw. An Aniipod Trace doubles capture chance, and higher-tier pods raise success outright, which is where you want them: on the stubborn member of the group rather than the easy first few.

The rest is ordinary catching discipline applied under pressure. Approach from behind, especially on a sleeping Aniimo, to boost your odds, and remember sleeping creatures can be captured outright. Where a group member will not go into a pod, knock its HP down and land break damage first. If you are short on good pods, a merchant will convert lower-tier ones upward at two to one, which is worth doing before you start a group rather than halfway through it.

Why branch upgrades feed themselves

Upgrading regional branches increases Aniimo capture rates, and branch blooms are what group appearances exist to trigger. Clearing groups makes the next group easier to clear. That loop is the practical reason to prioritise group appearances early rather than picking off single wild spawns, since the capture rate improvement applies to everything you throw a pod at afterwards.

Not settled: Group size is not fixed at twenty, and what bloom energy can be spent on once released is not settled.
