Guides › Starter Choice Guide: Helion vs. Lunara
What is Helion's playstyle?
Helion is a close-range melee fighter that deals physical burst damage and break damage and uses crowd control to group enemies.
Close combat demands tighter positioning and timing than fighting from a safe distance. You strike enemies in a small area and take hits directly, which makes sustain and crowd management vital to staying active in the fray.
Landing four basic attacks triggers the Solar Grace passive trait, granting a Solar Halo buff. This effect increases combat damage, offers sustain, and empowers your next active skill. Helion can also stun enemies with an empowered attack to interrupt dangerous mechanics.
Outside combat, Helion provides exploration utility through Hustle. This mobility ability raises sprint and movement speed while consuming your stamina.
Skills and Soleon evolution
Holy Storm acts as the primary crowd control tool. It damages targets, pulls surrounding enemies toward its center, and applies a 150% break multiplier to quickly deplete break meters. You can follow that pull with Holy Roar, which executes a roaring attack against the grouped targets.
Helion's Ultimate ability is Helion's Judgment. Activating it inflicts heavy damage and temporarily evolves Helion into Soleon for a high-impact burst window.
Helion vs Lunara
Choosing between Helion and Lunara is the first major decision in Aniimo. Both starter companions are DPS units of the Light element, which is also referred to as Holy, and share identical base stats across every category. Neither creature possesses an elemental weakness that the other does not.
The difference lies entirely in range and pacing. Lunara is a ranged magical attacker that generates Silver Moon Mark stacks to deal sustained area damage from safety. Helion operates strictly in melee range, trading that distance for rapid burst damage and specialized break depletion.
