Best Aniimo graphics settings for FPS on phones
Shadow Quality costs you more frame rate than any other setting, about 4% FPS per step. Here's what to turn down first on mid range and low end phones.
The short version
- Shadow Quality is the most demanding graphics setting in Aniimo. Each step down is worth roughly 4% FPS, and on low end phones you should turn it off.
- Global illumination can go down to Low or be switched off completely. That cuts processing load, and the price is some of the environment lighting.
- Lowering Animation Quality also takes load off the phone and can raise your frame rate.
- On a mid range phone with 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM, use the Performance preset and adjust from there.
- Aniimo is poorly optimised on many phones and can still stutter or crash on capable hardware. A dedicated developer team is working on the mobile version for popular devices.
Aniimo works a phone harder than you'd expect from looking at it. Some settings matter far more than others, and if your game is stuttering, the order you lower things in counts for more than how many things you lower.
This guide sticks to the mobile side: which settings cost the most frame rate, and what a mid range or low end phone should give up first. For black and red screen fixes and the full list of graphics options, see our main graphics settings guide. If your phone won't run the game at all, the Not Supported device error has its own page.
Shadow Quality is the setting to lower first
Shadow Quality is the most demanding graphics setting in Aniimo. It has the biggest effect on FPS, and it puts heavy load on both your processor and your memory. On a phone, that combination is what turns a smooth game into a choppy one.
The good news is that it moves in steps you can measure. Each step up or down changes performance by roughly 4% FPS. You don't have to choose between full shadows and none. Drop it one step, play for a while, and keep going if you still need more.
On a low end phone, skip the stepping and turn shadows off. That is the recommended setting for weaker devices, and it is the single largest saving you can make.

Global illumination and Animation Quality come next
Global illumination is the lighting that bounces off the environment and onto objects around it. It looks good, and it costs processing power to work out. You can set it to Low or switch it off entirely. Either one cuts the load, so try Low first if you care about how the world looks and Off if you care more about frame rate.
Animation Quality is the other easy target. Lowering it reduces the performance load on your phone and can improve your frame rate. Most players notice lower animation quality far less than they notice stutter, which makes it a cheap thing to give up.
What to set on mid range and low end phones
If your phone has 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM, start with the Performance preset. It is the recommended preset for mid range phones, and it gives you a sensible base to adjust from rather than tuning every option by hand. If you still get stutter on Performance, lower Shadow Quality one step at a time, then bring global illumination down to Low.
On a low end phone, be more aggressive. Turn shadows off, switch global illumination off, and lower Animation Quality. Those three cover the heaviest load the game puts on a weak device.

When lower settings still don't fix it
Settings only go so far. Aniimo is poorly optimised on many mobile devices, and it can stutter or crash even on phones that meet the AnTuTu threshold. If you have turned everything down and the game still hitches, the cause may not be anything you can change from the menu.
It is being worked on. A dedicated developer team is optimising the mobile version for popular devices and working to reduce lag. Until that work reaches your phone, the settings above are the most you can do yourself.
Where to start
If you change one thing, lower Shadow Quality, and turn it off on a low end phone. After that, set global illumination to Low or Off and lower Animation Quality. On a mid range phone, start from the Performance preset. If it still stutters after all of that, the problem is the game's optimisation, not your settings.
