How to fix the Aniimo Not Supported device error

Phones with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM can trip the requirements check by mistake. Here are the fixes that clear it, and what to expect if you still need support.

The short version

  1. The Not Supported message can be a bug in the game, not a sign your phone is too weak. It can trigger wrongly on devices with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM.
  2. On Android, a pending system update can trigger the minimum system requirements error, so install any waiting update first.
  3. Clearing the Google Play Store cache or storage data, updating your OS and freeing device storage are the fixes that clear compatibility and requirement errors.
  4. Only install the official app. Unofficial or fake Aniimo apps can cause compatibility errors, carry heavy advertising and risk data breaches.
  5. Getting past the error does not guarantee smooth play. The game can stutter or crash even on phones that meet the AnTuTu threshold, and support replies can be slow.

Some phones are stopped at the door. Instead of the title screen you get 'Device Incompatible', 'Not Supported' or a system requirement error, and the game will not open. That includes phones that are plainly capable of running it.

The good news is that this is often not your phone's fault. The bad news is that the fixes are a mix of things you can do yourself and things only the developers can sort out. This guide covers why the error appears, the steps that clear it, how to check whether your device genuinely falls short, and what to expect once you are in.

Why a capable phone gets told it is not supported

The incorrect 'Not Supported' message was a problem on the game's side. It affected many players, and the developers were working on a fix. So if your phone is recent and well specced, the error is not a verdict on your hardware.

There is a specific bug behind some of it: the minimum system requirements message can trigger erroneously on devices with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Those are not weak phones, which is why the error confuses so many people.

The same message is also the real one. On mobile and PC, a device that is genuinely below the minimum requirements gets an error saying it does not meet them. That means the wording alone cannot tell you which case you are in. Work through the fixes below first, then check the requirements.

6 GB or 8 GB

RAM on phones hit by the false error

The minimum system requirements message can trigger erroneously due to a bug on devices with this much RAM, so the error may not mean your phone falls short.

Fixes that clear the error

Start with system updates. On Android, a pending system update can trigger the minimum system requirements error at launch. Install whatever is waiting, restart, and try again. More generally, updating your phone's operating system to the latest version can resolve compatibility and launch errors on its own.

Next, clear the Google Play Store cache or storage data. This can resolve device compatibility and requirement errors on Android, and it costs you nothing.

Then look at space. Insufficient storage can cause launch and system requirement errors, so clearing device storage or the game's cache can fix them.

Finally, check where your copy came from. Unofficial or fake Aniimo apps can cause device compatibility errors. They also carry excessive advertising and risk data breaches, so if yours did not come from an official store, delete it and install the real one.

Checking whether your device really falls short

If none of that works, compare your device with the stated requirements.

On iOS, Aniimo Mobile needs at least an iPhone 11. The minimum operating system is iOS 16, and the recommendation is iOS 16 or later.

On Android, it needs at least a Snapdragon 855 processor. The recommended operating system is Android 10 or later.

On PC, budget between 30 and 45 GB of storage space. If you are short of room, the storage fix above applies here too.

What to expect once the game opens

Getting past the error is not the end of it. Aniimo is poorly optimized on many mobile devices and may stutter or crash even on phones that meet the AnTuTu threshold. A dedicated developer team is optimising the mobile version for popular devices and working to reduce lag, so performance is a moving target rather than a fixed property of your phone.

Launch day itself was rough. Crashes and bugs caused some players to lose save progress, which is worth knowing if your game closes unexpectedly.

Login, account linking and support tickets

One snag catches people on first launch. The login screen has a terms agreement checkbox, and you must tick it before choosing a login method and entering the game. If the buttons seem to do nothing, that box is the likely reason.

Linking a Steam or console account to a game account can fail. If that happens to you, or you lost progress, you will probably end up contacting support.

Set your expectations accordingly. Ticket replies can take a long time, and issues that need account data checked take longer still, because they can involve several teams. Lost progress and failed links are exactly that kind of issue.

Where to start

If your phone is capable and still refused, install any pending system update, update the OS, clear the Play Store cache and free some storage, and make sure you are running the official app. If you are genuinely below an iPhone 11, iOS 16 or a Snapdragon 855, no fix will help. Once in, expect some stutter, tick the terms box at login, and be patient with support on account problems.
