How stamina works in Aniimo

Stamina in Aniimo is a combat resource first and a travel resource second, and the upgrades that fix each half arrive from different places. Here is what the bar governs, what takes the pressure off it, and why Primegy is a different thing entirely.

The short version

  1. A stamina bar governs sprinting and dodging in combat, so movement and defence draw on the same pool.
  2. Collecting Lumin Ambers raises your maximum stamina.
  3. Cloud Shield reduces stamina consumption.
  4. Maxing the Branch unlocks unlimited stamina outside of combat, including in flight mode.
  5. Fire Kick opens with an evasive leap and deals increased damage if that dodge avoids an incoming attack.
  6. Primegy is a separate stamina-style resource that gates repeatable reward activities such as resource farming and repeated battle content.

Aniimo has a stamina bar, and it does the two jobs you would expect. It pays for sprinting, and it pays for dodging in combat. That overlap is the whole reason stamina is worth thinking about: the resource you burn getting around is the resource you need when something swings at you.

The good news is that all three levers on the system pull in your favour over time. You can raise the ceiling, lower the cost, and eventually remove the bar outside of combat altogether.

The confusing part is that Aniimo has a second bar that behaves like stamina and is not stamina. Sorting those two out early saves you a lot of guessing.

What the bar actually pays for

Combat in Aniimo is built on character skills and active dodging, which means you are expected to move out of attacks rather than tank them. Those dodges come out of the stamina bar. So does sprinting. Spend the bar closing distance and you have less of it when you need to get out of the way.

Dodging is not purely defensive either. Fire Kick begins with an evasive leap, and the skill deals increased damage if that dodge successfully avoids an incoming attack. That turns a well-timed evade into a damage bonus instead of just a survival move, and it is the clearest reason to hold stamina back rather than sprint it away. Aniimo's skills are covered in full in the skill list article; what matters here is that some of them are paid for out of the same bar you dodge with.

Three ways the pressure comes off

The first lever is capacity. Collecting Lumin Ambers increases your maximum stamina, so the bar you are budgeting gets bigger as you explore. Where to find them is the subject of its own article on this site.

The second is efficiency. Cloud Shield reduces stamina consumption, which does something a bigger bar cannot: it stretches every point you already have, including mid-fight when there is no time to recover.

The third lever removes the problem. Maxing out the Branch unlocks unlimited stamina outside of combat, and that includes flight mode. Overworld travel stops being something you ration. Note the boundary carefully, because it is the whole shape of the reward: combat still draws on the bar. What you are buying is free movement everywhere else, not free dodges.

Primegy is a different bar, and it is the one that limits your day

Primegy is a stamina-style resource, but it has nothing to do with sprinting. It gates repeatable reward activities: farming resources, repeating battle content, that kind of loop. You spend it to restore your ability to earn rewards from those activities.

So the two systems constrain completely different things. Stamina decides what you can do inside a single fight or a single stretch of travel. Primegy decides how many times you can profitably run the same content. Upgrading stamina does nothing for Primegy, and a maxed Branch will not let you farm forever.

Two bars, two jobs

Stamina

  • Governs sprinting and dodging during combat.
  • Lumin Ambers raise your maximum.
  • Cloud Shield reduces how much each action consumes.
  • Maxing the Branch makes it unlimited outside combat, including flight mode.

Primegy

  • Gates repeatable reward activities.
  • Covers farming resources and repeating battle content.
  • Spent to restore your ability to earn rewards from those activities.

Where to start

Treat stamina as two separate lessons. In combat, learn what a dodge costs you and when Fire Kick makes that cost pay; outside combat, the bar is a problem you can eventually delete with Lumin Ambers and a maxed Branch. Primegy is the one that actually limits how much you play in a sitting, so plan around it rather than around your sprint.
