Where to find Flutternym and its regional forms
Flutternym is the wind healer you can pick up in your first hour, and its regional forms are worth chasing for reasons that have nothing to do with healing.

Flutternym is one of the first useful Aniimo you will meet, and one of the few you will still be running much later. It is a wind-element healer and support, built around team-wide healing rather than damage.
The reason it gets its own page is the regional forms. Flutternym does not spawn as the same creature everywhere, and the forms do not share combat skills. Catching one in the starting region and catching another halfway across the map gives you two different tools.

Where Flutternym spawns
You can find Flutternym in Nimbus Fields, the starting region, so there is no gating on getting a healer early. Nimbus Fields has its own page if you want the rest of what is in it. The short version is that you do not have to go looking for this one.
Flutternym also spawns in Blitzwood, and in The Mistwoods. Those are not the only regions it appears in. If you passed one up early and want another, you are not locked out of it by leaving the starting area behind.
The regional forms and what each one is for
Flutternym's combat skills differ between its regional forms. That is the whole point of hunting them down. A form is not a recolour you catch for the collection. It is a different set of skills on a creature with the same job.
Flutinim is the one you will find in the Sea of Flowers. Flutterinum is the low-maintenance pick: it restores a percentage of health whenever an ability is used, and it does that from off-field, so it keeps working while something else is fighting. That is healing you do not have to spend a swap on.
Nimbi is the form you catch for reasons outside combat. It has Puff Up, which gives you extra vertical height when you are moving around the world. If there is a ledge you keep failing to reach, Nimbi is the answer.

What Flutternym does in a fight
Flutternym is a healer with team-wide healing skills, so it is repairing the whole party rather than topping up one target. That makes it a support slot, not a damage slot, and the rest of your team should be built with that in mind.
Its trait is Flutter Heal, which increases healing by 20% when Flutternym enters battle as the active Aniimo. Note the condition. It wants to be the one you lead with, not the one you swap in later. If you are stacking healing, leading with Flutternym is how you get the trait to count.

How to evolve Flutternym into Gracewing
Flutternym evolves into Gracewing. The evolution unlocks at level 21, which is the only thing you need to plan around. Evolution levels across the roster are collected on their own page if you want to compare.
The practical consequence is that Flutternym is worth levelling even if you are unsure about it. You are not choosing between a starter healer and a real one. You are levelling the early form of the same creature.
Where to start
Catch a Flutternym in Nimbus Fields for the healing, then pick up Nimbi when you want the traversal and Flutterinum when you want healing that runs itself. Push whichever one you actually field to level 21 for Gracewing.
