Can Umbral Aniimo appear during wild surges?

Open-world Umbral spawns sit at a base rate of approximately 1 in 3,000.

Pulse surges and wild surges create concentrated spawn windows where these variants can appear. Ecosystem nurturing becomes available once you upgrade a region's Branch to unlock the Nurture system.

Equipping the Wind Chaser Badge increases open-world sparkling and Umbral spawn rates by 50%. When these spawns occur, even fully evolved creatures can be encountered and captured directly in the wild in their Umbral forms.

Appearance in the Field

Umbral variants rank among the rarest forms in the game. They share a distinct dark essence with Darklers, showing a dark purple and black misty coloration in the wild. Once caught, they show a purple glow inside the monster box.

Not settled: Whether Umbral Aniimo always spawn with perfect base stats regardless of capture device or can arrive with normal, elite, or perfect grades remains unsettled.
