Can Umbral Aniimo be caught in the wild?

Umbral Aniimo, also called Umbra Aniimo, and Radiant Aniimo variants can spawn naturally at random and at a low rate while roaming the open world, where they can be encountered and captured, and evolved and fully evolved creatures can be met directly in the wild in Umbral form.

Expect a base encounter rate of approximately 1 in 3,000 across regular maps. That low chance puts Umbral variants among the rarest forms in the game. You can find them roaming open terrain or appearing when you open flower nodes. Because evolved and fully evolved stages can spawn directly in this variant, you do not need to catch a base form and evolve it yourself. Equipping the Wind Chaser Badge increases your open-world Umbral and sparkling spawn rates by 50%. Wild surges triggered through ecosystem nurturing provide another route, creating targeted opportunities for rare Umbral spawns to appear.

Appearance and recognition

Umbral Aniimo display a distinct dark essence with black and dark purple coloration, resembling the misty, cloud-like look of Darklers. After capture, they show a purple glow inside the monster box.

Weather and environment

Local spawns respond to habitats, the day-night cycle, and real-time weather. Thunderstorms can trigger variant appearances, while special conditions such as blooms introduce limited-time shifts. The map interface displays regional weather forecasts up to 24 hours in advance to help plan hunting routes.

Not settled: Potential for wild Umbral catches remains unsettled: they are described both as guaranteed to have perfect base stats regardless of level or capture device, and as able to roll normal, elite, or perfect grades.
