Guides › Twine health pools and untwining in combat

Can you control Aniimo by twining?

Players can twine with an Aniimo to directly control it in battle.

Pressing C shifts you out of Command mode so you can aim skills and dodge manually.

In Command mode, the Pathfinder stays on the field issuing tactical orders while the creature fights automatically. Twining takes over that creature entirely, turning automated combat into direct real-time action.

Direct piloting lets you steer movement, sprint, and manually aim abilities that otherwise target automatically. It also allows untwining whenever you want to return to human form, fighting alongside the Aniimo while backing it up with Pathfinder skills and commands.

Moveset and evasive actions

Twining grants the Aniimo's basic attack, two energy-consuming active skills, and a creature-specific evasive maneuver. Dodging in real time is necessary to avoid incoming strikes and area-of-effect hazards that automated movement might fail to clear.

The mechanic is taught early in the questline through Lunara and Helion, before starter Aniimo access their unique combat transformations like Helion shifting into Soleon.
