Do alternate forms change an Aniimo's type and skills?

Whether Prismana color variants and other alternate forms differ from their base species is unsettled. Certain alternate forms are described as rare forms with a different elemental typing and exclusive skills, including a new ability, unique skills, ultimates and attack moves that match the new element, while they are also described as keeping exactly the same moves and abilities as their standard forms.

This one is not settled.

Both versions are shown because the disagreement is itself information — usually it means the mechanic changed between beta builds.

Acquiring a Prismana form allows standard forms of that Aniimo to learn its unique skills.

When a Prismana form shifts element, it receives an attack move matching that new element. The creature's ultimate ability also changes completely depending on its elemental typing or form, providing expanded move choices compared to base forms.

These elemental changes alter combat calculations immediately. Innate elemental typing determines incoming damage effectiveness, while equipped skill elements determine offensive damage. Prismana Fulmintis adds the Light element, acquiring a weakness to Dark attacks that basic Fulmintis does not possess. Prismana Magmarex adds Dark to become Fire and Dark, which means it takes 1.6× damage from Water attacks because Water is super-effective against only one of its two elements.

Dual typings and exclusive moves

Several Prismana variants gain a secondary element to become dual-element creatures. Thornblade adds Water to its base Grass typing. Prismana Ignitis becomes a dual Dark and Fire type, while Prismana Turbo carries Dark and Wind dual elemental typing. Prismana Mellow Bloom gains the Light element.

These elemental shifts can provide exclusive skill access. Prismana Stellarys receives the exclusive Ice-type skill Chill Glide. Nova-stage Prismana Aniimo can also reach level 4 in their homeland ability and primary elemental affinity.

Forms that keep their standard traits

Not every Prismana variant gains a second element or altered powers. Pawnie remains a pure Dark DPS Aniimo and gains no secondary element in Prismana form. Prismana Scorchhowl similarly retains its pure Fire element without adding an extra type.

Other entries treat Prismana variants as keeping the exact same abilities, movements, and ultimate as their normal forms. Under this rule, the variant functions as an aesthetic Nova-stage variant with lighter coloration rather than a mechanical change.

Not settled: Prismana form behavior remains inconsistent across the game. Certain entries grant Prismana variants new elements, unique attack moves, and separate ultimates, while other entries state that Prismana Aniimo retain the exact abilities and ultimate of their base forms. Prismana Stellarys reflects this split directly, appearing both as a Dark and Ice dual type and as a pure Dark DPS with no secondary element.
