Guides › Stealth captures, backstab bonuses and sleeping Aniimo
Do wild Aniimo have daily routines?
Wild Aniimo follow daily routines in the overworld, including sleeping, eating and interacting with each other, sometimes fighting.
A sleeping Aniimo is the easiest catch in the overworld, so the routine is something to plan around. Throwing an Aniipod at one asleep makes the capture much easier. Whether it is a guaranteed catch is not settled: in some cases the displayed chance rises to 100%, and in others it only improves.
The other parts of the routine matter less for catching, but they change what you walk into. Aniimo eat, interact with each other and sometimes fight, so an area can look different from one visit to the next. If a target is awake, an Aniimo that spots you and engages has a lower capture rate. Coming in from behind earns a back attack bonus that greatly raises the catch rate.
## Getting an Aniimo to sleep yourself
You do not always have to wait for a routine to come around. Offering Earth Shards during nurture, such as in Rose Tower Woods, attracts Cubbo, and it spawns asleep if you make the offering during the day. In battle, Somniwing's Hypnotic Spores puts enemy Aniimo to sleep and can hit more than one target.
The routines also make good subjects for photo mode, which lets you pose individual creatures and use filters on Aniimo out in the world.
