Aniimo is an open-world game about finding, catching and fighting alongside creatures. The creatures share the game's name: each one is an Aniimo, and collecting them is the point.

What you do from minute to minute
The loop is simple to describe. You explore the world, run into creatures, catch them, build a team from what you have caught, and battle with that team. Then you go back out and do it again with a stronger squad.
Catching happens in the open world itself. You see a creature, you go after it, and if it works it joins your collection.
Why the creatures matter outside a fight
Every Aniimo has its own set of skills, including an ultimate ability. That is the part you expect from a creature battler.
The part you might not expect is that each one also has unique out-of-combat abilities. These change how you interact with the world, which means your team is not only a fighting lineup. It is also your toolkit for getting around and doing things in the overworld.
Two creatures of the same kind are not always identical either. Creatures can come as regional variants tied to their native biome, as high-potential variants, with unique traits, and as Prismana variations. If you care about collecting, that is where the long tail lives.
The world of Idyll
The open world is divided into multiple separate biomes. That matters for catching, because regional variants are tied to the biome a creature calls home. Where you hunt changes what you find.
The wild creatures are not just standing around waiting for you. They follow daily routines: sleeping, eating and interacting with each other, sometimes fighting among themselves. Watching a herd for a minute before you charge in is part of the game's character.

Co-op, homesteads and events
You do not have to play alone. Cooperative parties hold up to four players, and together you can explore the open world, solve puzzles and fight bosses.
You also get a homestead of your own, with base building and management systems. It is a separate thing to tend alongside your team.
Special events come and go. They bring limited-time rewards, exclusive quests and temporary map zones, so some content is only around while an event runs.

Where to start
If you like catching creatures and want them to matter outside battle, start by exploring widely. Different biomes hold different variants, and each new Aniimo can open up new ways to move through the world. Grab up to three friends if you want company, and keep an eye out for events, because their rewards and zones do not stay.
