Guides › How Weather and Time of Day Affect Spawns in Aniimo
How do I see which Aniimo live in a biome?
The map has a Habitats section, opened from an Aniimo silhouette icon in the side menu, that lists the creatures found in each biome.
A creature on a biome's list is not guaranteed to be out when you get there. Spawns depend on where you are and which biome you are standing in, but each species also has conditions on top of its habitat: the time of day, the current weather, and limited-time events such as blooms. Some special species, rare variants and weather forms only appear in their zone under specific weather or at specific hours.
Treat the Habitats list as a list of where to go, not a promise of what you will find. Forms also shift with local terrain and climate, so the same Aniimo can look different from one region to the next.
Checking whether the conditions are right
The same side menu helps with timing. With the map fully zoomed out, click the sun icon to open a forecast of regional weather changes up to 24 hours ahead, along with a timer. Rain, snow and thunderstorms bring out rare spawns and outbreaks, and some Aniimo spawn only in rain or a thunderstorm.
When weather has already brought out a weather variant, a small blue icon marks that region on the map. That is the quickest way to know a trip is worth making now rather than later.
Time of day does not have to be waited out. You can change it manually, from morning through to late night, so a species that only appears after dark is within reach once you have found its biome.
