How do you view captured Aniimo stats?

The practical effect is that catching is a two-stage process. Out in the field you are working blind: a fresh capture carries its numbers with it, but they stay hidden until you bring it back and put it through a station. So you catch on instinct, species and opportunity, then sort the keepers later at the outpost.

Once the numbers are visible, the thing to read first is personality. Each letter of an Aniimo's personality type grants a small stat boost, and the personality determines how that Aniimo grows and where its stats concentrate. That is why two captures of the same species come back from appraisal looking different. The species tells you roughly what you have. The personality tells you which individual you have.

What the appraisal numbers limit, and what they don't

A weak result is not a dead creature. Every Aniimo shares the same maximum potential cap of 20, and any Aniimo reaches identical stats when fully invested, whatever rarity it started at. Appraisal describes where a capture begins, not where it ends up. Star Essence and Star Sands are what move it, raising both stats and potential.

The one hard wall is family. Stat inheritance, including Resident Star Up and Awaken Potentials, only works between Aniimo of the same family. A strong appraisal is therefore only useful to relatives of that creature, so when you are deciding what to keep after a scan, think about which families you are already invested in rather than which single number looked best.

Not settled: Identification stations are dedicated facilities rather than something every structure offers, and whether each outpost has one is not settled.
