How to tell if an Aniimo is Perfect: the innate 8 rule
Appraise first, then read the innate values: 8 is the Perfect line. Here is how Elite compares, and how a Sparkling Cube or a Capa fruit takes a Perfect to 9.
The short version
- A fresh catch shows its grade as "Unappraised" until you submit it in a catch report at an Outpost's Research Console.
- An Aniimo counts as Perfect when both of its inherent potential values are 8, and 8 in a core stat is the standard to look for.
- Elite is one step below Perfect, and a higher grade means higher stats than a lower grade at the same level and personality.
- A Sparkling Cube on an Aniimo that already has perfect stats raises its recommended attributes to at least seed level 8 and improves the chance they exceed eight.
- A Capa (Kappa) fruit permanently adds one to innate potential, enough to push a Perfect from 8 to 9.
You can't tell whether a catch is Perfect by looking at it in the field. The grade stays hidden until the creature is appraised, so the first job is getting it to an Outpost.
Once it has been appraised, the check is one number. An Aniimo is Perfect when its innate potential values are both 8. Anything below that is a lower tier, and Elite sits one step down.
8 is also not the top. A Sparkling Cube and a Capa fruit can both push a Perfect Aniimo past it, and this guide covers when each one is worth using.
Nothing shows until it is appraised
A newly captured Aniimo hides its detailed stats and potential. Its Potential grade, the Attribute Rank that sets its stat ceiling, reads "Unappraised" until you take it to an Outpost and submit it in a catch report at the Research Console. The console evaluates it, and only then can you see what you caught.
So don't release or invest in anything straight off the catch. Appraise it first. Every caught or hatched Aniimo has its own traits, which means two of the same species can differ in potential and personality. The species name tells you nothing about the grade.
The innate 8 rule for Aniimo perfect stats
Perfect is the highest innate potential grade and the quality you want on a caught Aniimo. The test is simple: an Aniimo counts as Perfect when its inherent potential values are both 8. An innate value of 8 in a core stat is the standard to read for.
The grade is worked out from each stat's Potential, and it decides the creature's stat tier. A higher-graded Aniimo has higher stats than a lower-graded one at the same level and personality, so this is a permanent difference, not a cosmetic label. The full breakdown of grades lives in How Potential Grades Work. The short version here is that the tier names are not settled. Four tiers (Common, Good, Elite and Perfect) is the most common list, and the lower names also turn up as Ordinary, Normal, Rare and Epic. Perfect is at the top in every version.

Innate value of a Perfect Aniimo
Aniimo Elite vs Perfect
Elite is the innate potential tier one step below Perfect. If your appraised catch reads Elite, its innate values have not reached the 8 standard, and at the same level and personality it will trail a Perfect of the same species.
That does not make an Elite catch worthless. Higher base or innate potential gives you a better starting point, so fewer upgrade resources are needed to reach Perfect. An Elite is a cheaper climb than anything below it. If you are choosing which of two catches to spend on, spend on the one with the higher innate values.
- CommonThe lowest grade and the lowest stat ceiling.
- GoodOne step above Common.
- EliteOne step below Perfect.
- PerfectThe highest innate potential grade. Both inherent potential values are 8.
Pushing past 8 with a Sparkling Cube or a Capa fruit
Hitting 8 makes an Aniimo Perfect, but it is not a hard ceiling. Two items take it further.
A Sparkling Cube is for an Aniimo that already has perfect stats. Using one grants additional potential, raising the innate potential of its recommended attributes to at least seed level 8 and improving the chance they exceed eight. Save it for a creature that has already passed the 8 check, because that is the case it is built for.
A Capa (Kappa) fruit is more direct. It permanently raises an Aniimo's innate potential by one, and it works on a Perfect as well, taking it from 8 to 9. If you have a Perfect you plan to keep using, a Capa fruit is the clearest way to make it better than other Perfects of its species.
Where to start
Take every promising catch to an Outpost's Research Console before deciding anything. Keep anything whose innate values are both 8. Treat Elite as the next best thing and a cheaper climb to Perfect. Once you have a Perfect you mean to keep, a Sparkling Cube or a Capa fruit can take it past 8.
