Guides › Alpha boss farming: respawns, drops and which to keep
What do Alpha bosses drop?
Certain Alpha Aniimo, fought as Alpha bosses, drop boss-specific materials needed for Aniimo progression and evolution, including evolution stones, and defeating an Alpha boss for the first time grants a guaranteed set of evolution stones.
Your first kill on an Alpha Aniimo awards an Irisalis petal with zero energy cost.
That initial clear supplies the guaranteed evolution stones, while repeat victories yield standard drops of stones alongside boss-specific progression materials. Irisalis petals from first clears share an inventory pool with petals gained from exploration, branch nurturing, and the main story.
Certain evolutions also require an Alpha clear before materials can even be applied. Celestis, the Lumin-stage form, reaches its Nova-stage form Stellarys at level 18 by spending a Night Stone, but that upgrade remains unavailable until you defeat an Alpha Stellarys.
Multiplayer Alpha Battles
Alpha encounters do not need to be cleared alone. Alpha Aniimo bosses and open-world boss encounters can be fought cooperatively in online multiplayer, letting groups secure species evolution requirements and progression drops together.
