Guides › How Potential Grades Work
How do you train Acquired Potential?
Acquired potential is trained in the Awaken Potential tab using Stardust, Star Sand and Star Essence.
Stardust is the common material of the three and Star Sand is the epic one, with Star Essence alongside them. Training raises an Aniimo's acquired potential stats, and the Awaken Potential tab is the only place you do it.
Acquired potential is the half of the system you control. Innate potential is randomized for each Aniimo, works like individual stat values, and is set when you catch or hatch it. The one route given for raising innate potential is special items such as fruits, and even that is unsettled. Acquired potential, by contrast, goes up every time you put materials into it.
Check what you are training before you spend anything. An Aniimo's potential grade sets its stat ceiling, and a fresh catch shows that grade as "Unappraised" until you submit it in a catch report at an Outpost's Research Console. Appraise first, then put your Star Sand and Star Essence into the Aniimo whose grade justifies it.
