Guides › Surviving Egg Heist Nightmare: modules, waves and guards
When do extra mobs spawn in Egg Heist?
Additional enemies spawn during an Egg Heist run on the timer, including around the five-minute mark, with waves also reported at about 10 and 2 minutes remaining.
The five-minute wave lands at about 4:54, so treat 5:00 on the clock as your cue. The other two waves come at roughly 10 minutes and 2 minutes remaining. That gives a run three pressure points, and you can see each one coming on the timer.
The last wave matters most. At 2 minutes left you are usually heading for extraction with a full backpack, and dying or failing to extract loses everything in it, along with any Heist gear that protection items don't cover. Carry weight makes this worse. At 73 kg you stop moving entirely, and an immobile player during a spawn wave is how runs end. Leave yourself room to move before the clock gets that low.
## Handling the waves
You only control the Aniimo in team slot one, and only that one can twine, so whatever you put there is what fights each wave. A ranged damage dealer is the strongest choice, solo Nightmare included, because ranged attackers can kite melee enemies instead of trading hits with a fresh wave. When the timer gets near a wave mark, put some distance between you and where you are looting so you have space to back off and shoot.
Not settled: The five-minute wave is the only one with an exact time, at about 4:54. The 10 and 2 minute waves come around those marks, but their exact second is not pinned down.
