Aniimo costs nothing to play, so the only real question before launch is whether either console pre-order pack is worth $9.99 or $19.99 to you. Here is exactly what is in them, which one is platform-locked, and the cosmetic set you get for free just by signing up.

Aniimo is a free-to-play open-world creature-catching action RPG. You do not need to buy anything or pre-order anything to download it and play at launch, though it does carry optional in-game purchases. That is covered in full elsewhere on the site; for this page, the point is simply that everything below is optional.
What the pre-order packs sell you is a head start and some cosmetics. There are two of them on console, they are cheap, and one of them changes depending on which machine you buy it on.
Separately, there is a reward that costs nothing at all and depends on how many people sign up before launch. Worth knowing about before you decide whether to spend.
The two console editions and what they cost
Before launch, consoles get two pre-order editions: the Advanced Edition and the Collector's Edition. The optional pre-order bundles are priced at $9.99 and $19.99, and the Advanced Edition package is the $9.99 one.
These are add-on packs, not versions of the game. Buying neither still gets you the full free-to-play download at launch. Treat the decision as a cosmetics-and-extras purchase rather than an access one.

Inside the Collector's Edition pack
The Collector's Edition pre-order pack bundles three things. First, a Primegy Battery, which is granted immediately on redemption rather than sitting behind any later unlock. Redeem the pack and it is yours.
Second, the Collector's Companion Handbook rewards. Third, a platform-exclusive accessory, which is where the pack stops being identical across machines.
The Xbox Series X accessory
That platform-exclusive slot is the one part of the pack you cannot shop around for. On Xbox Series X, pre-orders include an exclusive Xbox-themed accessory called the Doggo Dude.
If you own more than one console and were planning to pick whichever storefront was convenient, this is the detail that should decide it. The accessory is tied to the platform you pre-order on, not to your account in general.
Pre-registration and the Sunlit Myriad set
Reaching 30 million pre-registrations unlocks the Sunlit Myriad limited outfit set, an exclusive cosmetic reward. This is a community milestone rather than a purchase, so your single sign-up is a vote toward it and costs you nothing.
Aniimo is also available to wishlist on PC and console storefronts. Wishlisting and pre-registering are the two free actions available to you before launch, and the Sunlit Myriad set is the only reward on this page you can get without spending money.

Where to start
Wishlist and pre-register regardless, since both are free and the Sunlit Myriad set is a community-wide unlock. Only buy a pre-order pack if you want the Collector's Companion Handbook rewards, the Primegy Battery and your platform's accessory. Nothing in either bundle is needed to start playing.
