Cornet: Wind DPS, Air Superiority and Flight
Cornet gains 20% critical strike rate only while airborne. Here is how that trait, Wind Bomb Rush and its beam ultimate fit a wind team's main damage slot.

The short version
- Cornet is a Wind damage dealer that can be the main DPS of a wind team.
- Its trait, Air Superiority, raises its critical strike rate by 20%, but only while Cornet is airborne.
- Wind Bomb Rush puts Cornet into an aiming mode and fires repeated wind bombs that rain down on the target from above.
- Cornet's ultimate, Avian Harmony Ensemble, fires a large wind beam.
- Cornet spawns on Zephyrus Landbridge, at a spot it shares with Chirpi and Tromber.
Cornet is a Wind damage dealer. It is not there to hold a line or patch up the team. Its job is to hit things, and it is good enough at that to be the main DPS of a wind team.
What sets it apart is a trait that cares where Cornet is. Air Superiority adds 20% to its critical strike rate, but only while it is airborne. Everything else in its kit makes more sense once you know that condition is there.

Catching Cornet on Zephyrus Landbridge
Cornet spawns on Zephyrus Landbridge, at a spot it shares with Chirpi and Tromber. Expect company when you go looking. The other two turn up at that same spot, so you may have to sort through them to find the one you want.
It is worth the trip if you are building around Wind. Cornet can take the main DPS slot on a wind team, which makes it the creature the rest of that lineup is there to support. How to build the rest of the team is a subject for its own guide. This page sticks to Cornet.
Air Superiority: crits that depend on being airborne
Air Superiority raises Cornet's critical strike rate by 20% while it is airborne. The condition is the whole point. While Cornet is in the air the bonus applies. While it is not, it doesn't.
So flight is not just how Cornet gets around. It is where most of Cornet's damage comes from. When you are planning a fight with Cornet, keeping it airborne is part of your damage plan, not a side detail.
20%
Crit rate bonus while airborne
Wind Bomb Rush: bombing from above
Wind Bomb Rush is Cornet's ranged attack. Using it puts Cornet into an aiming mode, and from there it fires repeated wind bombs that rain down on the target from above.
That makes it a sustained attack, not a single hit. You aim, then keep the bombs coming. Because it is ranged, Cornet does not have to close in to deal damage, which suits a creature that wants to stay in the air and out of the brawl.
Avian Harmony Ensemble: the big beam
Cornet's ultimate, Avian Harmony Ensemble, fires a large wind beam. Wind Bomb Rush is the steady pressure. The beam is the big hit you save for when it counts.
Together they explain why Cornet works as the main DPS of a wind team. It has a repeatable ranged attack, a heavy finisher, and a trait that pushes its crit rate up while it stays in the air.
Where to start
If you want a wind team, go to Zephyrus Landbridge for Cornet and make it the main damage dealer. Keep it airborne, because that is the only time Air Superiority's 20% crit bonus applies. Lean on Wind Bomb Rush for steady damage and save Avian Harmony Ensemble for the moments that need the big beam.
