Eggs: Where to Find Them and What Hatches
Eggs come from four places in Aniimo: the ground under your feet, obstacles you clear, activity rewards, and Egg Heist. Here is what each one gives you.
The short version
- Eggs sit out in the open world and can simply be picked up as you travel.
Eggs are not a side system in Aniimo. Some Aniimo have no other route into your team, and the game spreads them across the map, the reward tracks and one dedicated mode.
The sources differ in how much work they ask of you. Some eggs you walk past and grab. Some are sitting behind a wall of vines and stay there until you have the right field ability. Others are locked to a mode that hands out its own creatures and nothing else does.
This is pre-launch information taken from beta footage, so treat specifics as a picture of the build rather than a promise.
Eggs you find by walking around
Eggs can be discovered and picked up throughout the open world. That makes exploration worth doing for its own sake, because the reward is sitting there in the environment rather than at the end of a quest chain.
Not all of them are free to take. Certain overworld eggs are blocked by obstacles like vines, and reaching them requires specific field abilities. If you see an egg you cannot get to, the answer is usually a traversal or utility ability you have not unlocked yet, so make a mental note of the spot and come back.
Burning obstacles to see what is underneath
Some overworld obstacles can be burned, and burning them reveals hidden eggs and Aniimo. This is the practical reason to carry a fire option in the field even when your team is built around something else.
It also changes how you read the map. An obstacle is not just something in your way. It is a container, and clearing it is a search action rather than a chore.
Mysterious eggs and reward-track eggs
Certain Aniimo can only be obtained by finding and hatching mysterious eggs, which you earn from activities. That is the hard version of the rule: no amount of wandering the overworld will produce those creatures, so the activity loop is the only path.
Other reward sources fold eggs in alongside everything else. Collecting Lumen Ambers can award eggs together with other prizes. The Advanced Companion Handbook goes further and offers a perfect-potential Prismana Aniimo egg, plus evolution materials and other items. A perfect-potential egg is the kind of reward worth planning around, because it removes the usual gamble on what you hatch.
Sparkling Aniimo sit in both worlds. You can find them in the wild or get them through egg hatching, so if the wild hunt is not going your way, eggs are a second line of attack.
Egg Heist and the dark forms
Egg Heist is the one source you cannot substitute. It contains exclusive rare eggs and Aniimo forms available nowhere else in the game. Dark forms, including Darklers and the Umbrabow form, come only from here.
It pays out in two ways. Progressing through Egg Heist provides rewards over time, and the currency you accumulate can be exchanged for an Umbrabow egg. So there is a drop side and a save-up side, which means a specific dark form is something you can work toward directly rather than wait for.
If you want a full collection, this is the mode you cannot skip.
Where to start
Pick up every egg you pass, note the ones behind vines and come back with the right field ability, and burn obstacles rather than walking around them. Then treat Egg Heist as its own project, because nothing else in the game hands out Darklers or Umbrabow.
