What Prismana eggs hatch: potential and Sparkling Cubes
A Prismatic egg always hatches a random Prismana. A Wonder Egg is always Alpha or Sparkling. Put a Sparkling Cube on either and the result changes completely.
The short version
- A Prismatic (Mysterious Prismana) egg always hatches a Prismana Aniimo, but which one you get is random.
- A Wonder Egg always hatches an Aniimo with at least an Alpha or a Sparkling mutation, and Alpha is the more common result.
- A Sparkling Cube used on a Prismana egg hatches a perfect Prismana. On an alpha egg the result is alpha, sparkling, perfect and Prismana all at once.
- Hyper and Mega Anipods do nothing to a hatch. If a pod's tooltip has no extra subtext, it gives no hatching bonus.
- Keep Sparkling Cubes for Prismana eggs, confirmed meta picks, Vein Abundance targets and Umbra forms, not for your first Alphas.
Prismana and Wonder eggs are the two eggs people hold onto longest, because what you hatch them with matters as much as the egg. Both are guaranteed to give you something special. Neither tells you exactly what.
This guide covers what each egg hatches, which pods and cubes actually change the result, and when a Sparkling Cube is worth spending on one. The short version: the egg sets the floor, and the cube you use at hatch decides how far above it you land.
What a Prismana egg hatches
A Prismatic egg, listed in game as a Mysterious Prismana egg, always hatches a Prismana Aniimo. The catch is that the Prismana is chosen at random, so you know the category and not the creature.
Quality is not locked either. Perfect-quality Aniimo can come out of eggs, Prismana eggs included, but a plain hatch only gives you a chance at it. The exception is the event Spirit Egg: the Prismana Sparkelf it hatches is guaranteed to have perfect potential.
One thing a Prismana can never be is a carryover reward. Prismana and other special Aniimo cannot be sealed inside Promise Eggs. Promise eggs also can't be hatched straight away; you first have to unlock the Aniimo's form in the Anilog by catching its basic version.
What a Wonder Egg hatches
A Wonder Egg is guaranteed to hatch an Aniimo with at least an Alpha mutation or a Sparkling mutation. You will never get a plain creature from one.
Of the two outcomes, Alpha is the most common. Treat Sparkling as the lucky roll and Alpha as what you should expect, which matters when you decide whether to put a cube on it (more on that below).
Prismana egg
- Always hatches a Prismana Aniimo
- Which Prismana is chosen at random
- Can sometimes hatch a perfect quality Aniimo
Wonder Egg
- Guaranteed an Alpha or Sparkling mutation
- Alpha is the most common outcome
The pod you hatch with changes the result
When you hatch any egg, you choose an Anipod or Anicube to hatch it with. The range runs from regular pods up to the special Ultra and Sparkling pods, and the choice affects what comes out.
Not every premium pod helps. Hyper Anipods give no stat or rarity bonus and show no extra hatching effects. Mega Anipods and Mega Anicubes do not alter hatching results or add anything either. The quick way to tell is the tooltip: a pod with a hatching bonus lists it as extra subtext, and a pod with no subtext gives no bonus at all.
A Shiny Cube, also called a Sparkling Cube, can be applied to an egg before it hatches. That is the one that turns a good egg into a great one.
Mega or Hyper Anipod
- Mega Anipods and Mega Anicubes do not alter the hatch result
- Hyper Anipods give no stat or rarity bonus
- A pod with no tooltip subtext gives no hatching bonus
Sparkling Cube
- Applied to the egg before it hatches
- Produces a perfect Prismana Aniimo
- Shop bought eggs get a tiny chance of the shadow sparkling mutation
Using a Sparkling Cube on a Prismana egg
Use a sparkling item on a Prismana egg and the hatch is a perfect Prismana Aniimo. Use one on an alpha egg and you get everything stacked together: alpha, sparkling, perfect and Prismana.
On a shop-bought Prismana egg there is a bonus roll on top. Hatching it with a Sparkling Cube gives a tiny chance of the shadow sparkling mutation. Tiny means tiny, so don't buy eggs chasing it.
If the Aniimo already has perfect stats, the cube still does something. It grants additional potential, raising innate potential for its recommended attributes to at least seed level 8.
The usual worry is losing the Prismana colour. From version 1.1, a Prismana Aniimo's original Prismana hue counts as an unlocked hue, so you can switch back to it after using a Sparkling Cube.
When to spend a Sparkling Cube
Sparkling Cubes are commonly saved for Prismana Aniimo, and that is a sensible default. Keep them for the targets you actually want on your active team: confirmed meta picks, Prismana eggs, or a Vein Abundance Aniimo you have been hunting. Don't spend them on your first Alphas or on early creatures nobody has confirmed are worth building. Players also commonly save them to make Umbra forms Sparkling.
Cubes work in the field too. An Alpha Aniimo caught with a Sparkling Cube becomes Sparkling. To catch a wild Prismana, use a Sparkling ball or Sparkling Cube rather than a normal pod. Exactly how cubes interact with Prismana is not settled yet, though: they are treated both as the item you need to capture a Prismana and as an item you use on a Prismana you already own to change its hue.
Whichever way you use them in the wild, lower the enemy's health before you throw. That stops you wasting a cube, and it keeps you from burning one on an evolved form you didn't mean to catch.
Where to start
Hatch Wonder Eggs freely; Alpha is the expected result. Hold Prismana eggs until you have a Sparkling Cube to spare, because a cube at hatch guarantees a perfect Prismana. Spend cubes only on creatures you plan to field, and never hatch with a Hyper or Mega pod expecting a bonus.
