Prismana Aniimo Elements and Skills

What each Prismana Aniimo's elements are, the weaknesses that come with them, and the skills only the Prismana form unlocks.

The short version

  1. Prismana forms run two elements: Glynsera is Ice and Light, Ignitis is Dark and Fire, Magmarex is Fire and Dark, Thornblade is Grass and Water, Turbo is Dark and Wind.
  2. Fulmintis gains the Light element in its Prismana form.
  3. Prismana Fulmintis is weak to Dark. The base Fulmintis is not.
  4. Prismana Turbo is weak to Light.
  5. Prismana Magmarex takes 1.6× damage from Water, because Water is super-effective against only one of its two elements.
  6. Prismana Grizbo unlocks an exclusive Dark-type skill, and Prismana Stellarys has an exclusive Ice-type skill.
  7. Elemental advantage comes from the element of the skill you use, not from the element of the Aniimo using it.

A Prismana Aniimo is not a recolour of the creature you already have. The form changes what elements it carries, and in a game where elements decide a large slice of your damage, that changes who it beats and who beats it.

Two things move at once. Your offence moves, because a new element opens new targets. Your defence moves, because your own typing is what enemy attacks are measured against, and a Prismana form can hand you a weakness the base form never had.

This page covers the Prismana forms whose elements and exclusive skills are confirmed: Glynsera, Ignitis, Magmarex, Thornblade, Turbo, Fulmintis, Grizbo and Stellarys.

Every Prismana typing, element by element

Thornblade
Thornblade

Prismana Glynsera is an Ice and Light type. Prismana Ignitis is a dual Dark and Fire type. Prismana Magmarex is a dual Fire and Dark type. Prismana Thornblade is a dual Grass and Water type. Prismana Turbo has dual Dark and Wind typings.

Two patterns are worth noticing. Ignitis and Magmarex land on the same pair of elements, Fire and Dark, which makes them close cousins defensively even though they are different creatures. And Dark turns up on three of those five forms, so a team built entirely out of Prismana variants can end up leaning hard on one element.

Thornblade is the clearest example of how the form works. The base Thornblade (No. 034) is a Grass-element Aniimo. The Prismana version keeps Grass and adds Water on top of it. The original element does not always get thrown away. Sometimes a second one is simply stacked on.

Aniimo Prismana Fulmintis and the weakness it brings with it

Fulmintis
Fulmintis

Fulmintis gains the Light element in its Prismana form. That is the headline, and it sounds like pure upside.

The catch is on the other side of the ledger. Prismana Fulmintis also gains a weakness to the Dark element that the base Fulmintis does not have. Your defensive matchup is worked out from your own typing against whatever is coming in, so a new element is a new surface for enemies to hit. If your roster is short on answers to Dark, the Prismana form is a downgrade in exactly the fights where Dark shows up.

This is the trade to weigh on every Prismana form, not just this one. Judge the new element by what it invites as much as by what it gives you.

Fulmintis gains the Light element in its Prismana form. That form also gains a weakness to Dark that the base form does not have.

What dual typing does to the damage you take

Prismana Magmarex takes 1.6× damage from Water. The reason is the shape of its typing: Water is super-effective against only one of its two elements, so the multiplier lands between neutral and a clean double hit.

That is the practical value of a second element. It softens a hit that would otherwise land at full super-effective strength, and it is also why a Prismana form can feel sturdier than its base without any change to its stats.

Prismana Turbo is weak to Light. Pair that with its Dark and Wind typing and you have the cleanest read on the list. If you are fighting one, bring Light. If you are using one, expect Light to be brought against you.

1.6×

Water damage taken by Prismana Magmarex

Water is super effective against only one of its two elements, Fire and Dark, so the incoming multiplier settles at 1.6×.

Exclusive Prismana skills

Grizbo
Grizbo

Some Prismana forms are worth chasing for the move list alone. Prismana Grizbo unlocks an exclusive Dark-type skill. Prismana Stellarys possesses an exclusive Ice-type skill. Neither is available on the ordinary version of the creature.

An exclusive skill matters more than it looks, because a skill's element is what decides elemental advantage, not the element of the Aniimo swinging it. A Dark-type skill on Grizbo is a Dark-type answer you can point at anything weak to Dark, whatever Grizbo itself happens to be. Same for Stellarys and Ice.

So these two forms do not just change what their creature resists. They change what it can threaten.

Skills carry their own element, and that is how you exploit a weakness

In Aniimo, each skill has its own element, and it can differ from the element of the Aniimo using it. Ignitis can learn and use a Grass-type skill, which tells you how loose that connection is. Fire Bolt is a ranged skill that inflicts fire status.

Because elemental advantage is read off the ability rather than the attacker, hitting a target's weakness means picking a skill of the element that target is weak to. Putting a Light-typed Aniimo in front of Prismana Turbo is not enough on its own. You need a Light skill in the slot.

One thing combat does not do: there are no elemental chain reactions. Stacking different elements onto the same target does not trigger anything extra, so build your loadout around hitting the one weakness that is actually there rather than around mixing elements for their own sake. The full advantage chart lives in the Elements and Elemental Advantage guide.

Where to start

Check the Prismana typing before you commit to the form. If the new element covers a gap on your team, take it. If it only hands opponents a fresh weakness to aim at, like Dark against Prismana Fulmintis, the base form is still doing a job. And whichever you run, make sure the skill in the slot is the right element, because that is the half of the matchup you control.
