Prismana Pact: which free Prismana to pick at level 40

Level 40 unlocks one free rare Prismana. Pawney has the top attack of the six, but Prismana Glacy's teamwide damage buff and the healers make a case too.

The short version

  1. The Prismana Pact selector unlocks at account level 40 together with the Junior Wayfarer Pathfinder rank (also called Junior Excursionist), and you claim your free rare Prismana between levels 40 and 45.
  2. How many Aniimo the selector offers is not settled: the list is given as both six and 14.
  3. Pawney has the highest attack of the six free options, at 128 (also given as 125), and keeps its pure Dark typing.
  4. Prismana Glacy is a Water and Light type whose exclusive skill gives the whole team an unconditional damage buff, which makes it the strongest support case in the Prismana roster.
  5. Nothing you skip is gone for good: every Prismana variant from the pact event can be caught later during Prismana Storms.

At account level 40 Aniimo gives you a free rare Prismana. You get one pick, and the list mixes raw damage dealers with Aniimo whose real value is an exclusive skill that only the Prismana form has.

This guide covers how the Prismana Pact selector unlocks and what the options do differently. It looks at the three things worth comparing: typing, attack stats, and the exclusive skills Prismana forms gain.

The short version: the pick matters less than it looks. Every variant from the pact can be caught later.

How to unlock the Prismana Pact selector

Reach account level 40 and the Junior Wayfarer Pathfinder rank, which the game also calls Junior Excursionist. That unlocks the Prismana Pact launch event selector, which lets you choose one free rare Prismana Aniimo. The window for the choice runs between levels 40 and 45.

The size of the list is not settled. It is given as both six and 14 Aniimo. Pawney is one of the six free options at Junior Wayfarer rank, so it is the safest name to plan around. Check the selector itself before you commit to anything else.

The important part: all Prismana Aniimo variants from the pact event can also be caught later through normal gameplay during Prismana Storms. Your pick is a head start, not your only chance. Take whatever helps your team right now and hunt the rest in a storm.

Prismana stats: who hits hardest

Pawney
Pawney

If you want raw damage, Pawney is the answer. It has the highest attack stat of the six free Prismana options, with a base attack of 128. The figure is also given as 125, but either way it tops the list. Prismana Pawney keeps the pure Dark typing of its standard form, so you are taking the stats rather than a new element. Its full kit has its own page on this site, alongside Thornblade and Scorchhowl.

Grisbow is the other heavy hitter. Its attack stat is 126, one of the higher values among Prismana options. Unlike Pawney, Grisbow does change element: its Prismana form adds Dark to its default Earth, which makes Prismana Grizbo a dual Earth and Dark type. Its skills and Enraged State are covered in depth elsewhere on the site.

So the two damage picks split cleanly. Pawney has the bigger number. Grisbow has the extra element.

Pawney or Grisbow for raw attack

Prismana Pawney

  • Highest attack stat of the free Prismana options
  • Keeps the pure Dark typing of its standard form

Prismana Grisbow

  • Attack stat of 126, one of the higher values
  • Prismana form adds Dark to its default Earth element

Which Prismana forms gain a new element

Several Prismana forms add a second element to the original, which changes what they are good against and which team buffs they benefit from.

Blazen's Prismana form adds Dark, making it Dark and Electric. Luminelle's Prismana variant gains Light, making it Shock and Light. Prismana Glacy (also spelled Glacius) is a Water and Light type; its typing is also described as Water with Holy. Prismana Stellarys is a dual Dark and Ice type. Grisbow, as above, goes from Earth to Earth and Dark.

Others stay as they were. Prismana Scorchhowl keeps its pure Fire element. Prismana Pawney stays pure Dark. Prismana Ignitis, a Fire and Dark DPS Aniimo, shares the same typing as its Highland form and gains no extra element.

If you already own the standard form of one of these and like it, the ones that gain an element are the ones that give you something genuinely new.

Prismana Glacy and the exclusive support skills

Glacy
Glacy

This is where the pick gets interesting. Some Prismana forms unlock skills the standard form never gets, and the best of them help the whole team rather than one Aniimo.

Prismana Glacy is the standout. Its exclusive Light skill fires a Light Orb at the target, and on hit it grants the whole team the Prism Aegis buff, a typeless damage increase. It is an unconditional 15% teamwide damage buff for 15 seconds. The exact figures are not settled, though: the buff is also given as 50%, and the duration as 20 seconds. The skill's name is unsettled too. It appears as Glimmer Shot, Glamourshot and Flickering Shot. Because the buff is typeless, it helps every damage dealer on your team regardless of element.

Prismana Turbo has Nebula Burst, which deals AoE damage and raises allies' Dark damage. Its strength is not settled: it is given as 6% for 15 seconds, and as 15% for 20 seconds. In that second version it rises to 30% and reaches all nearby allies while Turbo is in the Shrouded in Mist state. That pairs naturally with Dark attackers such as Pawney.

The rest are more specific tools. Luminelle's Prismana form gains a laser ability that channels electricity into healing light and restores allies' HP. Prismana Melloblum has an exclusive skill that cleanses negative effects from the entire team. Prismana Fenmane, the Prismana form of the Electric Aniimo Fenmane, gains an exclusive Light skill called Radiant Dart. Pan Panta's Prismana form gains Water Cannonade, a break utility skill that applies five stacks of the Water debuff.

Prismana Glacy is a Water and Light type with an exclusive skill that buffs the whole team's damage.

Why a Prismana keeps paying off

A Prismana is not just a recolour with a bonus skill. Nova-stage Prismana Aniimo can reach level 4 in their homeland ability and their primary elemental affinity. Whatever you pick at level 40 has room to grow as you invest in it, so choose something you expect to keep using.

Where to start

If you want the strongest Aniimo on paper, take Pawney: it has the highest attack of the six free options. If your team already does the damage, Prismana Glacy's teamwide buff is the better long-term pick. Either way, you can catch the others later in Prismana Storms.
