Where to find a Hatchinator and build more incubators

Eggs hatch in the Outpost, the floating city, your camp RV and your Homeland. Upgrade the Homeland and you can build incubators that run without Aniimo or water.

The short version

  1. You hatch Aniimo eggs in a device called the Hatchinator, and you can use one from the early game.
  2. Hatchinators are in four places: the Outpost town, the central floating city, your camp and your Homeland base.
  3. The Outpost hatcher is the one you can always get back to, since you can fast travel there to collect what has hatched.
  4. Prismana Spark Elf eggs can be hatched in the Outpost Hatchinators.
  5. Upgrading your Homeland base unlocks a personal incubator, and the incubators you build at home run on their own without an assigned Aniimo or water.

If you want to know how to hatch eggs in Aniimo, the answer is one machine: the Hatchinator. You put an egg in it and the egg hatches. You get access to one from the early game, so hatching is part of the game long before you have a base worth talking about.

What changes as you play is where you can hatch. There is a Hatchinator in the Outpost, hatching facilities in the floating city, and incubators you can build and place yourself at your camp RV and your Homeland. This guide covers each one and how to unlock and build more of your own.

How to hatch eggs in Aniimo

Every egg goes into a Hatchinator, the specialised device Aniimo uses for incubating and hatching. It is not a late unlock. The Hatchinator is used for hatching from the early game, which means you can start turning eggs into Aniimo almost as soon as you pick them up.

You will find a Hatchinator in four places: the Outpost town, the main city, your camp and your Homeland base. The first two are public locations you travel to. The second two are spaces you own and build up, and that is where you get to add more incubators.

The Outpost Hatchinator

The Outpost is where most players hatch their first eggs. The hatcher sits in the Outpost town, and you can fast travel there to collect your hatched Aniimo. So you do not need to wait beside it. Drop the eggs in, go about your business, and come back when it suits you.

It also matters for specific eggs. Prismana Spark Elf eggs can be hatched in the Outpost Hatchinators, so if you are carrying one, the Outpost is a place you know will take it.

Hatching in the floating city

Aniimo has a central floating metropolis that works as the game's social hub. Alongside its shops and NPCs, it has egg-hatching facilities of its own.

That makes it a convenient stop rather than a special trip. If you are already in the city to shop or talk to people, you can hatch while you are there.

Unlocking and building your own incubators

Your own space is where hatching scales up. Upgrading your Homeland base unlocks a personal incubator for hatching eggs. From there you can construct additional egg incubators at your homestead, and both egg incubators and Hatchinators can be placed and used there. The upgrade system itself is covered in our Homeland and RV guide; for hatching, the point is that upgrading is what opens the door.

Your camp RV works the same way. You can build and place egg incubators in your personal camp RV area, so the Hatchinator at your RV homestead is not the only one you are limited to.

The best part is upkeep, or the lack of it. Egg incubators at home work on their own. They do not need an assigned Aniimo and they do not need water, so every one you build is hatching capacity that costs you no attention once it is placed.

Outpost Hatchinator or home incubator

Outpost Hatchinator

  • Available for hatching from the early game
  • Fast travel to the Outpost to collect hatched Aniimo
  • Hatches Prismana Spark Elf eggs

Homestead incubator

  • Unlocked by upgrading the Homeland base
  • Works on its own with no assigned Aniimo or water
  • More can be built and placed at the homestead

Where to start

Use the Outpost Hatchinator from the start, because you can fast travel back to collect, and hatch in the floating city whenever you happen to be there. Then upgrade your Homeland to unlock a personal incubator and build more at home and at your camp RV. They run by themselves, so more incubators means more eggs hatching at once.
