The RV: your mobile base, upgrades and RV parks

The RV has 10 upgrade levels, and each one adds passive attack damage and elemental resistance. Here is how to unlock it, pay for it and where to park it.

The short version

  1. You unlock the personal RV by completing Fanny's early-game mission GoGo Homes, and the wider Homeland system opens at Wayfarer level 20.
  2. The RV has 10 upgrade levels, and upgrading it grants passive stats, including boosts to attack damage and elemental resistances.
  3. RV upgrades cost Home Coins plus Homeland materials such as wood and minerals, and some upgrades make you wait a real-time timer, for example two hours to unlock the construction zone.
  4. Upgrade material counts only show correctly while you are inside the Homeland. From outside they read as zero, so check them there before deciding you are short.
  5. RV parks and open-world settlements are shared hubs where you meet other players and see their trailers, even though the continent of Idyll itself is not shared unless you are invited.

Every Pathfinder gets a recreational vehicle. It is yours, it is customizable, and it sits at an open-world campsite as your headquarters. Inside it is a portal to your homeland area, so the RV is also the front door to the whole Homeland system.

It is easy to treat the RV as decoration. That is a mistake, because upgrading it feeds stats straight into your fights and speeds up nearly everything the Homeland produces. The usual advice is to start Homeland activities early precisely so the RV levels up alongside you.

This page covers how you get the RV, what its 10 levels cost, which passive stats and bonuses the upgrades give, and how RV parks work as social spaces.

Unlocking your RV and the Homeland

The personal RV home comes from an early-game NPC mission: finish GoGo Homes from Fanny and it is yours. The Homeland system that the RV connects to unlocks at Wayfarer level 20, which is your player level.

Once you have both, the RV does three jobs at once. It is your mobile home base at an open-world campsite, it is a multiplayer social space, and it holds the portal to your homeland area. Some outfits and cosmetics can only be obtained through the Homeland and the RV, so if you care about how your character looks, this is not optional content.

The 10 RV upgrade levels and what they cost

The RV can be customized and upgraded across 10 upgrade levels in total. Paying for them draws on two things.

The first is Home Coins, the Homeland currency. Home Coins also pay for facility construction and unlocks, production upgrades, furniture, seeds and more, so the RV competes with the rest of your Homeland for the same purse. The farming and production side of that economy has its own guide on this site.

The second is materials you harvest in the Homeland, such as wood and minerals. These go into both upgrading and decorating the RV.

Two quirks catch people out. Accurate upgrade material counts are only visible while you are inside the Homeland; from outside they display as zero, which looks like you have nothing when you may have plenty. And upgrades are not instant. Some carry a real-time waiting timer, such as two hours to unlock the construction zone. Start an upgrade before you log off or head out on a long session, not when you want the result right now.

Total RV upgrade levels

Each upgrade adds farming plots, passive bonuses and better home orders, so every level is worth planning Home Coins and materials for.

RV stats: the passive bonuses from upgrading

If you are looking for Aniimo stats outside of your creatures, the RV is one of the places they come from. Upgrading the RV system grants you passive bonuses, including boosts to attack damage and elemental resistances. You get these simply by having the upgrades, with nothing to equip.

The upgrades also push the Homeland economy along:

Passive resource generation increases and scales up as the RV levels.

Daily home orders are more likely to arrive at higher star ratings, with better chances for element gems.

You get more farming plots, and RV upgrades are necessary to advance your farmland level at all. A neglected RV caps your farm.

That last point is why the RV sits at the centre of the Homeland rather than beside it. Combat stats, order quality and farm size all lead back to the same upgrade track.

RV parks and meeting other players

Multiplayer in Aniimo is mostly activity-based. The continent of Idyll is not populated by other players unless they are invited into the host's world. Shared hubs are the exception: Astra city, outposts, campfires and RV parks all let players meet.

RV campsites and open-world settlements are where you encounter other players along with their trailers. That makes your RV the thing other people actually see of your Homeland, which is part of why the customization matters. The co-op side of the game is covered in its own multiplayer guide.

Expeditions, eggs and furniture tied to the RV

RV trips and automated dispatches send your Aniimo out and bring back baseline materials and held items, and sometimes eggs. Those eggs always match the family or evolution line of the Aniimo you sent, longer trips raise the egg chance, and an egg can inherit the parent's form and mutations. Passive dispatches can even return eggs with the Prismana trait. The full breakdown lives in the Homeland RV expeditions guide. The practical note here is that you can build and place egg incubators at your camp RV area, so eggs from dispatches have somewhere to go.

On furniture: certain interactive furniture items can be placed and used directly in the open world, not only at home. The Homeland Shop, a weekly shop that sells furniture, has an unsettled unlock condition. It is given both as opening with the Homeland itself and as opening once the RV reaches level 4. Furniture also appears in paid packs; the Laurel Moon Blessing pack costs 280 Lumen Crystals and includes the Floral Moon Jukebox furniture item alongside the Laurel Lantern and Moonbound Journey accessories.

Where to start

Finish GoGo Homes as soon as Fanny offers it, then start Homeland activities early so the RV levels with you. Spend Home Coins and harvested wood and minerals on RV upgrades before you spend them on decoration, because the upgrades give attack damage, elemental resistance, more farm plots and better home orders. Always check material counts from inside the Homeland, and start timed upgrades before you step away.
