Can Aniimo be played solo?
Aniimo has a single-player mode, and the majority of its content can be played entirely solo.
◇Aug 2026
Single-player is supported directly on the Steam release, and you can progress through the open world without joining a party. Missing out on group runs does not lock you out of standard progression gear. Rewards found in cooperative Sanctums can be acquired through alternative methods, so you do not need a party to clear those reward pools.
Activity modes also accommodate solo runs where possible. The PvE version of Operation: Egg Heist can be entered and completed solo without bringing a partner.
Trade Exclusives and Group Perks
Choosing to play strictly alone creates a few specific gaps. If you do not choose the event Aniimo Fulmintis or Dazmand initially, you can only acquire the missing one by trading or entering another player's world.
Base management also has a minor cooperative bonus. When visiting friends enter your Homeland, they can Caress an incubating egg in your Hatchinator to shave 10 minutes off its timer, up to a set limit. Playing without visitors means waiting out the full incubation clock yourself.
Shared Spaces and Multiplayer Challenges
Even when playing alone, you will encounter other players in the floating metropolis, which serves as a shared social hub. Outside the hub, entering another person's game world requires an invite from that player.
Certain content is built specifically around cooperative groups of up to four players. Cooperative Sanctums and shrine dungeons feature team mechanics, including overhead switches that must be pressed to lower moving platforms for players below. Alpha Aniimo and world bosses can also be tackled as a team, though their encounters exist alongside standard solo exploration.
Not settled: The structure of Operation: Egg Heist remains unsettled across beta builds, shifting between a solo-friendly PvE mode and mandatory team PvP formats.
