Can Aniimo be played solo?

The main story campaign can only be progressed alone.

Other players cannot join your campaign quests, and the continent of Idyll contains no wandering players unless you explicitly invite them into your world. Cooperative play is invite-only for up to four players, leaving exploration entirely solitary by default.

Shared multiplayer hubs like the floating city of Astra, outposts, and RV campsites allow you to encounter other players and their trailers. Stepping outside these designated gathering zones puts you back into an unshared world.

Group Bosses and Sanctums

Certain encounters are balanced around group play. The world features large bosses, including Alpha Aniimo and world bosses, intended to be fought in groups even though co-op is optional.

Sanctums are instanced puzzle shrines tied to world progression, where you twine with select Aniimo to solve environmental puzzles and unlock reward chests.

Not settled: Sanctum formats are not settled yet, alternating between requiring cooperative teamwork and offering distinct solo, partner-required, and timed variants.
