Can you catch creatures in Aniimo?

Omega Aniimo cannot be captured, and you cannot catch the unchosen starter.

Your initial choice between Lunara and Helion is permanent, meaning whichever creature you pass up will not appear in the wild later. Beyond that restriction, catching begins during the early tutorial quests, where your first capture is an Emberpup. That tutorial introduces catching alongside movement, combat, elemental counters, and twining with your Aniimo.

New players should catch the creatures they encounter in the early game rather than rushing past them in search of something better.

Traversal abilities

Capturing specific Aniimo unlocks traversal skills in the world. Different creatures grant gliding, climbing, digging, sprinting, swimming, diving underwater, and flying. Bolty possesses level two climbing to scale walls and surfaces. Adding these Aniimo to your collection opens new routes and options across areas you have already visited.
