Guides › How Twining Works

Can you fight while carrying the egg in Egg Heist?

In Operation: Egg Heist, the player who twines with the objective Giant Darkler Egg transforms into the egg, losing all combat abilities and being able only to jump and roll or dash until the team extracts.

Whoever digs out the central egg becomes the egg, and stays that way all the way to extraction. Picking it up is a twine, but not the usual kind. Normal twining hands you the creature's abilities, skills and cooldowns. Twining with the Giant Darkler Egg hands you none of that. You keep jumping and rolling or dashing, and nothing else.

So the carrier's whole job is movement. Use the jump and the dash to get the egg to extraction, because you have no way to answer an attack yourself. Any fighting on the route has to come from somebody who is not holding the egg.

That also makes the grab a decision rather than a reflex. The player who digs out the egg is the one who stops fighting, so it pays to agree beforehand who takes it.

Not settled: How the rest of the team fights in Egg Heist is not settled. The mode is listed both as giving you no direct control of an Aniimo and as letting you directly control the Aniimo in team slot one, the only one you can twine with.
